Ducati Multistrada description

Gunn Highway This used 2013 Ducati Multistrada ST in Silver is available for sale at Euro cycles of Tampa Bay located at 8509 Gunn Highway Odessa, Florida 33556 Phone: Web: www.EuroCyclesOfTampabay.com2,zero miles!Options:This Ducati Multistrada ST features Ducati Skyhook suspension, heated handlebar grips, saddle bags, Ducati top case, Ram Mount with Zumo GPS mount, and a center stand.Overview:Ducati made a bunch of significant upgrades to its best-selling (in Europe) Multistrada line for 2013, and invited the moto press to Bilbao, Spain, to sample its wares--specifically, the 1200 S Touring. But all 4 Multis (1200, 1200 S Touring, the new Granturismo, and Pikes Peak Edition) get a new, 2nd-gen 11-degree DS Testastretta V-Twin that's claimed to make five percent more torque than before. Most of the credit for the increase goes to what hinted at by the DS designation: dual-sparkplug heads. But redirecting fuel injector nozzles onto hot exhaust valves improves atomization and a new air injection system similar to the Panigale's allows the Multi to run a richer mixture when necessary, which results in smoother running without smoking past Euro three and EPA emissions standards. All the Multis except the base 1200 get all-new "Ducati Skyhook Suspension," a semi-active system that uses electronics to help maintain the bike's front-to-rear balance as conditions change--as if the bike were suspended from the sky, says Ducati. 2 pairs of accelerometers (the front pair on a fork lower and at the bottom triple clamp, the rear pair on the swingarm and subframe), measure wheel movement at each end and feed it to the bike's ECU. The ECU then controls 1 electronic valve in the left fork leg, and another in the shock. Built by Sachs, these needle-and-seat valves regulate oil flow within the suspension units, responding so quickly, says Project Manager Federico Sabbioni, that a single valve is able to control flow on both compression and rebound strokes. With the Multistrada having 150 claimed horsepower, 6.7ins of travel at both ends and a mission that includes sometimes carrying full saddlebags and maybe a passenger, DSS makes sense. For more on this bike including VIDEO - http://ecotbinventory.com/listing/2013-ducati-multistrada-1200-st-silver-4/

French Moto Website Anticipates Versys 1000 at EICMA 2011

Mon, 24 Oct 2011

Musings of a liter-size engined Kawasaki Versys have circulated the web for a few years now, as loyalists of the likable Versys 650, as well as displacement-driven riders waiting in the wings, have pondered the potential of a more powerful adventure bike from Kawasaki that’s in the same league as BMW’s R1200GS and Yamaha’s Super Tenere. Alas, nothing of the sort has ever left the lips of Kawasaki, let alone go into production. Recently, however, the French motorcycle website, Moto-net.com, has produced convincing images that appear like photos of a complete Versys 1000, including matching hard luggage.

To qualify a production-based racebike for FIM homologations, manufacturers have to meet certain production thresholds.
