Massimo Tamburini: 1943 – 2014

Massimo Tamburini, creator of some of the industry’s most iconic motorcycle designs, has succumbed to lung cancer at the age of 70. Tamburini was diagnosed with the disease last November and underwent chemotherapy treatment but passed away April 6. Earning renown for designing motorcycles such as the Ducati 916 and the MV Agusta F4, Tamburini’s name will be forever linked with those two companies, as well as Cagiva and helped found Bimota (Tamburini is the “Ta” in the company’s name.) FIM Superstock 1000 Homologation List Updated, Adds MV Agusta F4RR and Ducati 1199 Panigale R

The International Motorcycling Federation has updated its homologated model list for the 2013 World Superbike, Supersport, Superstock and Endurance racing seasons. The list is largely unchanged from the list released in February with the exception of a couple of additions. The Superstock 1000 and Formula Endurance World Championship list now includes the 2013 Ducati 1199 Panigale R and the MV Agusta F4 RR.

The photo leak has revealed the exterior of the Ducati 939 SuperSport

Studio photographs of the more expensive S version (judging by the Öhlins suspension and forged wheels) have already leaked into the worldwide web. The engine is clearly borrowed from the Hypermotard 939, the frame and suspensions are reminiscent of those of the Monster, and the dashboard and face are reminiscent of the Panigale. All technical data will be revealed by the Italians at the very beginning of October at the Intermot exhibition in Cologne.
