Ducati Monster description

For sale: The most beautiful blue and white S4R (996 8 valve Super Bike Engine) which I ordered in the spring of 2003 from Fast By Ferracci when it first appeared in the magazines. I took delivery of the first one they received on October 28, 2003. After the catalytic converter was replaced by a straight pipe. Ferracci installed a Power Commander which was personally mapped by the legendary Eraldo Ferracci himself. The dyno results are included in the photos. A short license plate kit was installed.to clean up the rear beer shelf. Other than that, the bike is totally stock except for a fabulous billet clutch cover. Notice that the passenger pegs are not on the bike because I never carried a passenger. I have them and they are perfect and included. I have the catalytic converter if you want it. Notice the bike has a Sargent seat, but I have the stock seat which is perfect and included. The tires have less than 2000 miles on them. This bike is stunning. I once scraped the bike not moving and broke off the brake lever and put a scrape on the mufflers, BUT I have new perfect mufflers (see photo) and they are included, too. There are no other scratches or defects. The only other time I saw this color S4R, it was on display at Barber. That's how beautiful it is. Already a classic! I was 55 when I bought this Monster, but I am now 68 and it is too much for me to use the right way. Never involved in any mishap, so it's a lucky machine, too. Questions? Call me. For sale to highest bidder: slightly used 2008 Ducati Desmosedici RR street-legal MotoGP replica. Okay, maybe “slightly used” is a bit misleading. This Ducati Desmosedici RR (one of only 1,500 produced) lost a battle with physics and currently sits in pieces at Insurance Auto Auctions’ Fremont, Calif., branch.

Ducati 1199 Panigale Superquadro Engine to Power Volkswagen XL1 Sport

Mon, 30 Sep 2013

Ever since Audi acquired Ducati, we’ve been anticipating the first cross-brand technological developments between the Italian motorcycle maker and the German automaker. Sure, there have been some cross-promotional tie-ins, but we’ve been waiting with baited breath to see what Audi, and its parent company the Volkswagen Group, had planned with Ducati‘s small engine technology. Well we don’t have to wait for much longer, as VW Chief Executive Officer Ferdinand Piech revealed the first product of the “DucAudi” union in a speech at the University of Vienna: a new sports car concept called the Volkswagen XL Sport powered by the Superquadro engine from the Ducati 1199 Panigale.

A Peek Inside The Ducati World Superbike 1199 Panigale + Video

Wed, 16 Jul 2014

When Ducati introduced the 1199 Panigale, it announced it would take an entire racing season to develop its World Superbike challenger before entering it into competition. Being a new design for Ducati, where the Superquadro engine is the main stressed member of the chassis, meant a significant amount of testing was required to prepare the bike for battle. In this video, former racer, and now TV commentator, Steve Martin, explains a few nuances of the 1199.
