The big bore / short stroke design of the engine delivers tractable power over the widest rpm range, so you're "on the gas sooner" and shift less. Combining 100+ horsepower and light weight (423 lbs.) results in an inspiring power-to-weight ratio while a close ratio gearbox adds to the excitement. The S4's handling is just as impressive as its power. The lightweight Superbike derived trellis frame ensures confidence in the turns. The suspension features fully adjustable front forks and rear shock. The rising rate, ride height adjustable rear suspension includes an aluminum swingarm, lowering "unsprung weight" and improving damping control. A fat 180/55 ZR 17 rear tire and a 120/70 ZR 17 front are mounted on super light Marchesini five spoke wheels. Improved ground clearance allows increased lean angles to take advantage of the S4's handling prowess. Valentino Rossi and Nicky Hayden Frolicking in the Snow [Video]
Mon, 16 Jan 2012Last week, we wrote about Valentino Rossi and Nicky Hayden and Ducati’s annual Wrooom ski and press event in Madonna di Campiglio, Italy. While Ducati, Rossi and Hayden are under intense pressure to perform better in 2012 than they did in the 2011 MotoGP season, the Wrooom event provided the riders and the team a chance to unwind before getting back to work. Ducati has released a video featuring its two factory riders enjoying the slopes at the ski result in the Italian Alps.Watch the video after the jump of Rossi and Hayden riding a Ducati-adorned Ski-Doo and snowboarding.
848 Challenge: Official race report, Snetterton 300
Mon, 28 May 2012Mike Edwards put a disappointing start to the season behind him with a win and a second place at Round Three of the Ducati 848 Challenge at the Snetterton BSB weekend. With a gritty ride to victory in Race One and a late charge to third in Race Two, Edwards (Ohlins @ P&H Motorcycles) managed to keep his championship hopes alive following a run of uncharacteristic crashes at the last two rounds. Edwards said before Race One that he was going for a “win it or bin it” attitude this weekend as he desperately needed to make up the points he missed out on at Assen.
Austin Kicks Off MotoGP Weekend!
Wed, 17 Apr 2013This weekend, the MotoGP circus makes its way to the United States for round two of the world championship, held at the stunning new Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas, the first time the track will host a world championship level motorcycle event. Expect to see the world’s fastest racebikes reach speeds over 200 mph on the 1 km (0.62-mile) back straight, and bring ear plugs — these bikes are loud! Fresh off a 1-2 finish in the season opener in Qatar, Jorge Lorenzo and Valentino Rossi are looking to carry the momentum to CotA.
