Ducati Hypermotard description

2010 Ducati Hypermotard 1100 EVO, DIGITAL UNIT DISPLAY, IMMOBILIZER SYSTEM - Hypermotard evoluzione. The 1100 EVO further enhances the original Hypermotard concept of ruling the road. The wide, tapered section handlebars continue to transfer control of the asphalt to the rider and the full length seat still eases the fore and aft movement for extreme riding. The difference now is that it does it all better than before. A new super-light dry weight of 172kg (379lb) and an increase of power to 95hp is the result of an intense program of redesigns and refinements intended to be the evolution of the Hypermotard.

Three-time World Superbike Champion Troy Bayliss and Ducati Superbike Project Director Ernesto Marinelli sat down together to talk about the new Ducati 1199 Panigale in a new video released by the Bologna manufacturer. The video was shot in a split screen format with the two men answering questions about Ducati‘s new superbike. Of course, the video feature the two lauding superlatives on the 1199, but it does offer some amusing moments such as Bayliss’ “Superquadro” face pictured above and the two men doing their impressions of how the Panigale sounds rocketing down the straight of the Mugello circuit.

Bayliss Retires from Motorcycle Testing

Tue, 26 Jun 2012

Retired World Superbike Champion Troy Bayliss announced he is retiring once again, this time from his duties as a test rider for Ducati. Bayliss, who retried from racing after winning his third WSBK title in 2008, had been working with Ducati, most notably as a test rider for the Ducati 1199 Panigale. Bayliss tweeted (@TroyBaylisstic) his intention to no longer test on June 23, just hours after beating Valentino Rossi in the finals of the Diavel drag race at World Ducati Week 2012.
