1978 Custom Ducati. One of a kind great custom Ducati, modified to have a 900SS look. 1978 Bevel drive engine - you will notice the bevel window in the photos. Handmade one of a kind aluminum polished gas tank is eye catching - makes the bike stand out in a crowd. Alloy wheels with polished stainless steel spokes. Del Orto 38mm carbs. Recently painted (2014) with Ducati paint (Ducati Yellow- looks orange). Frame is a 900ss reproduction -- very high end, manufactured 1976-1981 (extremely hard to find -- frame alone would sell for $3K plus). Engine number research shows it is most likely a GTS that was put into the 900SS frame. Odometer is 7938 miles.
Bike was purchased from an individual in Florida 8 years ago. It is a project that was done with a great deal of intergrity - maintaining the lines of the SS with a fraction of the cost.Completely repainted and engine meticuously taken care of. Alsways garaged - bike is in great condition. Perfect for someone who has always wanted a 900SS but prefers not to spend $30K plus for an original. More photos by request. Tue, 19 Feb 2013Maybe I'm wired up wrong but these pictures of the Alstare Ducati 1199 Panigale are, to me, more exciting than the latest Sports Illustrated cover. Just look at that tight chassis, the flowing curves and those cans tucked just out of sight and then compare that to the model on the right. I know what I'd rather spend the day with.
