Ducati 1968 Ducati 450 Desmo description

1968 Ducati 450 Desmo cafe racer / race bike - rare, fast, fun

Extremely rare - fun and fast classic Ducati 450 Desmo wide case, set up for racing, but has lights, horn, battery etc.
Very original, a few race-oriented modifications.
Could be registered and plated for street use.

Bike had been actively campaigned by the previous owner.
Can be run in various club race classes and should be very competitive.
Excellent short track bike with big torque, solid power and stable handling.

Purchased as a collectable, current owner has never raced the bike.
Has been carefully stored, maintained and well looked after.
Overall decent cosmetics and very good mechanical condition.

Real 450 Desmo wide case engine.
Numbers matching frame and engine.
The engine is stock internally with factory carburettor, rated at 38 HP by Ducati.
Modified oiling for improved oiling to the head .. a standard mod for racing, does not affect street rideabilty.
Can be kickstarted, but like all big singles - much easier with a rear wheel spinner.

Ducati racing Fiberglass tank and solo seat.
Rearset pegs and clip on bars.
Marzocchi Reservoir shocks.
Original tach and speedo.
New tires, good brakes.

All the right stuff, period correct.

A true cafe racer with classic style or a very fast and fun club racer for AFM etc.

Sounds awesome, runs strong, handles sweet.

Clean California title ... ready to go.

    The Diavel rocks!

    Thu, 21 Jul 2011

The Diavel is my new bike of the year. Not being a huge Ducati fan, when I was thrown the keys of this monster at Silverstone on Tuesday I was expecting an ill handling, weighty beast that would run out of revs and scare me to death. Well I couldn’t have been more wrong as I had an absolute blast.

The International Motorcycling Federation has named Franco Uncini the FIM Grand Prix Safety Officer and circuit inspector. The 1982 500cc Grand Prix World Champion (pictured on the left above) takes over for the retired Claude Danis (right in the photo) to oversee safety in MotoGP. The now 58-year-old Uncini won the 1982 World Championship for Roberto Gallina‘s factory-backed Suzuki.
