Chopper Chopper description
This is a no reserve auction. This chopper has a 1989 Sportster title, but there is nothing 1989 Sportster on this bike.
It has a Paughco frame that we spread in the rear to accept the Deuce wheel. The original 883 motor was replaced about 200 miles ago with the black and chrome motor from a 2000 Sportster with 22,000 miles. the 883 gave up the ghost 10 years ago with just over 16,000 miles on it. It was covered in my garage until this summer after I bought the 1200 and had it installed by Dan's Harley in Queback, TN. The work included rebuilding the S&S carb, rebuilding the master cylinders and a lot of other parts. New coil, wires, plugs, battery, drive sprocket, o-ring chain, and more. the exhaust is Paughco up-swept, turn out straight pipes. The front end is a 10" over Paughco Springer. The 16" apes are on 6" custom risers. The clutch cable was a custom made by Barnett. The seat is a Corbin King & Queen, The back wheel is a 17" Deuce aluminum. The ignition is a dual fire RevTech. Hand made parts are: Riser studs and spacers under the risers. The stacked stainless Maltese Crosses (cut from the bottom of an old stainless sink) on front of the frame. The stainless oil tank (made from stainless tubing). The springless kickstand. The battery tie-down strap (cut from the bottom of a stainless sink). Maltese Crosses for mounting passenger footpegs (trick welded to backside so no welds on front side). Stainless Maltese Cross axle adjusters (made from stainless eyebolts and, you guessed it, crosses from the stainless sink bottom) Tail light bracket. Sissy bar made from 1/2" stainless keystock (very very time consuming). We taped it off and painted in our garage. There is not another paint scheme like this. The clear on the tank needs very light sanding with 1500 paper and more clear. The paint is chipped in very few places and needs touched up with an air-brush. The back tire needs some air out of it to make it ride a little better. (The hard ride didn't bother me ten years ago when i was 53). It needs a new front tire due to dry rot. It has no horn. The turn signals are your left hand. This is not a cookie cutter chopper that was bought off the shelf. This is exactly like we rode in the 60s. I just spent more than $3,000 on parts, labor, and the motor. I have receipts. The buyer is responsible for pickup or shipping. I will work with shipping company. I require a $500.00 down payment via PayPal within 48 hrs. The remainder in cash at pickup or Bank Cashier's Check within 14 days. I can store it in my garage longer at no cost if it is paid for. Clear title is in hand and will be released at pickup with cash payment. The title will be expressed mailed upon the check clearing my bank. It will not be released until the check clears my bank. I can be reached at 270-217-7303 to answer questions. |

Kittens love wooden motorbikes
Thu, 21 Jun 2012A chopper true to it's word as Hungarian motorcycle enthusiast Istvan Puskas quite literally spent two years chopping wood to make his dream ride. The one-of-a-kind bike, built by the 52-year-old tractor driver from Budapest, is made from water resistant black locust wood and is powered by a small engine donated from a Fiat. It also turns out that adorable kittens like it too...
