This is a NO RESERVE auction for a very original 1975 Honda XL350 in good running condition. This XL350 starts easily and runs well and is in its original red and black paint, the cleanest and best looking styling for this model. These first generation single cylinder XL350’s are impressive street legal trail bikes and are known for remarkable reliability and durability. They are easy to start and ride and make fine street bikes because they are light, low, dependable and economical.
This XL350 is from the dry high desert of Southern California. It is solid.
The 1975 XL350 is mechanically identical to the ’74 and is legal and very desirable for AHRMA vintage motocross and cross country events.
Here are some more good features of this 1975 Honda:
-The tank is in very good shape except for a ding on the top and two small dings by the Honda emblem. Only light surface rust inside.
-Both original side covers are in place.
- Original, great sounding, distinctive downswept exhaust is solid.
-Complete original airbox with new foam filter.
-Comes with original Honda key.
-Fresh oil change. Centrifugal oil filter cleaned.
-The speedometer and tachometer work.
-Straight rear grab rail and rear fender support. These are often missing.
-Original sprockets are in good shape.
-Rare 1970’s solid aluminum bars.
You should know:
-I don’t have paperwork for this bike, but I will gladly provide a bill of sale.
-There are some nicks and dings on the tank. All the painted surfaces show wear typical for a bike that has been trail ridden.
-The bike shifts well and the clutch operates easily.
-Engine has light oil leaks from shift shaft and left engine side cover.
-The rear rim has a ding.
-Tires have tread and hold air but are old and cracked.
-Fork seals should be replaced.
-Battery is dead but is not needed to run the bike. The XL350 has magneto ignition.
-Original chain should be replaced.
-Instrument chrome trim is dinged and scratched.
-Exhaust has small dings on the bottom. Heat shield has some heavy scratches.
-Left switch pod is cracked, high-low beam knob is missing.
-Fuel valve leaks if you put pressure on the lever.
-Blue high beam lens missing from headlight bucket.
-Original seat is separated on the bottom edge and has some tears. The cover and foam are still soft.
-No tail light.
-No turn signals.
-Clutch lever ball end missing.
