Rare street legal vintage dt200r.
Always garaged since I've owned
This bike originated in Canada. I purchased it in 2012. It was not running 100%.
Winter 2021 I removed the engine and rebuilt it
Ken O'Connor racing performed the following:
Rebuilt crank: new rod, crank pin, washers, big end bearing, and top end bearing
Bored stock cylinder to fit 67.5mm new Wossner piston
Massaged the area around the power valve (this is from memory I can't remember exactly what they did)
The following is work I performed
All nos yamaha parts except the carb, piston and rings
Light smoothing of transfer ports
Decked the head and cylinder very light work needed
New cylinder studs and hardware (from memory)
Installed new crank bearings
Installed a few new transmission bearings
Installed new crank seals
All new gaskets
Installed new OKO carburetor
Installed new Reed valves
Adapted a wr200 fmf fatty chamber to fit
Removed oil pump to run on premix (pump is included with sale)
New battery
The engine was heat cycled and then ridden on the street for about 100 miles. it's had a strict diet of pre-mixed 91 octane non ethanol fuel and Motul 710 at 32:1. This is a counter-balanced power valve motor so it really is smooth, has a nice low end and a decent pull up top. Engine revs clean and snappy but check jetting for your elevation. The clutch and trans work great. Everything works.
I have a clean clear Wisconsin street title that lists the bike as road/trail. I believe this bike could be road legal in all states. You would have to check for yourself but Wisconsin is a very tough state to get a street title and it's legal here. Bike is all original except the fmf and the turbinecore silencer. I have the stock chamber. I did have to get creative to adapt the chamber to the silencer. see video.
See pics for details:
plastics on left side cracked, a few dents and scratches
I touched up the frame with rustoleum years ago
Fork seals are leaking
Front brake works but will need a rebuild
Rear turn signal stalk cracked
There is no sidestand safety switch.
Front brake lever is bent
light surface rust in the tank.
Not a defect but it's on premix so the oil light is lit on the dash
I will work with a buyer to get it shipped. I have a van so I can get it to the shipper of your choice in Madison Wisconsin
Pick it up from my house if you would like. Contact me if you would like to talk via phone.
