1992 Honda CBR1000F Project

Honda spent much of the 1980s developing the V4 engine architecture through all their model range. But in 1987, they returned to the straight four across-the-frame design that put them on the superbike map way back in 1969.

The 1-liter CBR featured a narrow 16-valve, water-cooled ‘4’ beneath the all-encompassing bodywork. Not quite a supersports machine at a weighty 500lbs, the 140bhp and superb handling and brakes, the bike started a new category and coined the phrase “sports tourer”. A major success for Honda, the wonderfully smooth, couch-like CBR1000 remained in production until 1997.

The motorbike offered

The 1992 Honda CBR1000F on offer here was imported from Europe about a year ago. Sold on a clean, clear title, the bike is in need of servicing and recommissioning of the fuel and spark systems before returning to fast, ultimately smooth mile-crunching duties. Please note damage around the right mirror to the fairing caused in transit.
