P17229 2015 HONDA INTERCEPTOR VFR800F Victory Red ESTIMATED CITY/HWY Fuel Economy 43 mpg Refinement No Other Bike Can Touch… With experience comes wisdom. Sure, fluorescent-colored breakfast cereal might be fun when you’re a kid, but as you learn more, you start eating smarter. Same with your motorcycles. Loud, flashy bikes that try to grab your attention with outrageous styling, but do not turn or stop well? Seating positions that would give a chiropractor nightmares? Pass. The experienced rider looks for a machine that works with him or her. That offers plenty of performance, that’s comfortable to ride—even at a brisk pace. For generations, that’s meant Honda’s Interceptor, a bike that performs as well in the curves as it does on the open road. The Interceptor’s 782cc V-4 VTEC engine with fuel-injection mapping for better low-end torque feel. It includes adjustable seat height to better fit a range of riders, front-mount radiator for a slimmer profile, radial-mount front brakes, and all-side muffler, wheels and Pro-Arm swingarm. There’s even a Deluxe model for 2015 with features like traction control, anti-lock brakes, self-cancelling turn signals, a centerstand and heated grips. A Showcase Of Our Best Technology The Interceptor is a groundbreaking machine and always has been. The latest 2015 version offers a stunning number of features like LED headlights, available traction control and our Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS). And the V-4 VTEC engine runs on two valves per cylinder at low engine speeds and four valves per cylinder at higher revs. All are designed to give you one of the most capable machines we’ve ever built. FEATURES AND BENEFITS WHEN NEW VTEC 782cc liquid-cooled 90 V-4 enginePro Arm single-side swingarm with adjustable Pro-Link rear suspensionAdjustable seat height, comfortable rider ergonomicsThe 782 cc, liquid-cooled 16-valve DOHC 90° V4 engine with VTEC received significant development – focused on cam timing and valve duration/overlap – to deliver the required increase in low-to midrange power and torque. Completely new are the aluminum single-sided Pro-arm swingarm and 43 mm Honda Multi-Action System (HMAS) telescopic fork. The fork features stepless spring preload adjustment and 108 mm of wheel travel; the HMAS gas-charged rear shock operates through a Pro-Link suspension linkage with remote spring preload and stepless rebound damping adjustment. •The VFR-signature ‘X’ headlight shape is updated and now features LED lights – a first for Honda. Positional lights are integrated with the wing mirrors, just like the VFR1200F. At the rear, the wide, angular tailpiece offers plenty of room for a pillion and features an LED rear light unit with combined indicators for a clean uncluttered look. •A compact automotive-style ‘wave’ design key – with internal grooving – reduces the chance of breakage. V-4 Engine An Interceptor VFR800F hallmark since the beginning, the V-4 in our latest model does what Honda V-4s have always done best: provide tons of low-end torque with plenty of high-revving power. Adjustable Seat Height The Interceptor VFR800F’s seat adjusts from 31.8 inches to 31.0 inches to help custom-tailor the cockpit to a wider range of riders. Traction Control Available on the Interceptor VFR800F Deluxe, traction control pairs with our Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) to give you more confident riding under challenging conditions. Anti-Lock Braking System Unfamiliar roads, uneven road surfaces and compromised traction LED Headlight Clear, crisp, compact and bright: the latest LED technology lets the Interceptor’s headlight and unique accent lights do more than just light up the night—it gives the bike a strong styling element. The tail light and turn signals are also brilliant, long-lasting LEDs. Front-Mounted Radiator By moving the radiators from the fairing sides to in front of the engine, we’ve slimmed down the bike’s middle cowl area, giving it a more sleek style and reducing the width. Digital Instruments The Interceptor’s instruments include a digital speedometer, analog tachometer, gear-position indicator, miles-per-gallon readout, ambient air temperature gauge and a clock. Grip Heater Cold mornings and cold gloves? Just dial up the Interceptor’s grip heaters and your hands will be happy (Deluxe Model). Twin-Spar Aluminum Chassis The foundation for the Interceptor’s stellar, tack-sharp handling, the twin-spar all-aluminum design is light and strong. VTEC Valve Train Running on two valves per cylinder at low RPM and four valves per cylinder at higher engine speeds, the Interceptor has tons of torque down low and plenty of horsepower up top—it’s like having two engines in one. V-4 Engine Drawing on 30 years of V-4 technology and racing success, Honda designers gave the Interceptor one of our most advanced streetbike engines ever: a fuel-injected, liquid-cooled 782cc V-4 brimming with low-end torque. Digital Fuel-Injection Always a technology showcase, the Interceptor’s engine uses digital fuel injection that is specially mapped to work with the VTEC engine two-valve/four-valve operation to increase both low-end torque and high-RPM horsepower. Single-Sided Swingarm Honda’s Pro Arm single-sided swingarm is a proven design, and the Interceptor’s swingarm is lighter and mounts the chain and brake disc on one side for easier wheel servicing and tire changes. It looks better too! Centerstand Servicing your bike and parking it level—especially with saddlebags—is a snap with this great Interceptor feature (Deluxe Model). Adjustable Seat Height Adjustable from 31.8 inches to 31.0 inches, the Interceptor’s seat fits a wider variety of riders. Stainless Steel Muffler Streamlined and compact, the muffler offers a significant weight reduction from previous designs. Traction Control The Interceptor benefits from Honda’s Traction Control system. If the system believes wheel-spin is imminent, limits rear wheel slippage during hard acceleration or during acceleration on low traction surfaces (Deluxe Model). Self-Canceling Turn Signals When you share the road, you always want other riders and drivers to know what your intentions are. So it can be unsettling when you realize you left LED Tail Light Bright, clear and long lasting, an LED tail light is the way to go with a bike as modern as the Interceptor. Engine/Drivetrain The 782 cc, liquid-cooled 16-valve DOHC 90° V4 engine with VTEC received significant development – focused on cam timing and valve duration/overlap – to deliver the required increase in low-to midrange power and torque.. VTEC valve timing still operates one pair of inlet/exhaust valves per cylinder at low rpm, and then switches to four as revs rise but the transition is now seamless. Combined with the uprated torque, the effect is remarkably linear power delivery and effortless overtaking at highway speeds.. PGM-FI fuel injection – with 36mm throttle bodies – has been remapped to suit the engine’s new performance parameters, and improved fuel economy means you can keep going for up to 350 km per tank.. Honda’s Traction Control System (TCS) is fitted as standard equipment. It’s operated from the left handlebar and provides additional security in a wide variety of riding conditions and situations.. Chassis/Suspension The diamond triple-box section aluminum twin-spar frame is mated to a revised die-cast aluminum sub-frame that is 3kg lighter than the previous model. In total, curb weight is reduced by 10 kg to 239 kg.. Completely new are the aluminum single-sided Pro-arm swingarm and 43 mm Honda Multi-Action System (HMAS) telescopic fork. The fork features stepless spring preload adjustment and 108 mm of wheel travel; the HMAS gas-c
