 VanDerZee Motorplex is a 33 year FAMILY OWNED powersports dealership located in South Haven, Michgan 49090. (I-196, exit 20 just 90 minutes from Chicago).  My father, Ed VanDerZee owned the Pontiac dealership in South Haven from 1957 to 1978 and his sons (my brother and I) owned it until 1991 selling Pontiac, Buick, Cadillac, GMC and Jeep.  My Dad taught me the values of Honor and Integrity.  He did business when a handshake was your bond.  We think that it was a pretty darned good way to do business.

In 1991 Ray and Linda VanDerZee added Kawasaki Jet Ski watercraft to their new facility which housed their auto leasing dealership and it was an immediate success.  (Not to mention that their 3 daughters enjoyed riding their demos on Lake Michigan!)  Motorcycles, atvs and Mule Utility Vehicles were added months later.  The powersports business continued to grow and by 2006 a new and larger facility was needed. VanDerZee Motorplex was designed as a 1950's theme store complete with an authentic soda fountain rescued from 60 year old downtown drug store.  The unique dealership features restaruant style booths and there is not a cubicle or closing office anywhere is sight! 

We want you to enjoy the process of purchasing a new Kawasaki or Yamaha. When you call the Motorplex you will not get an automated answering system!  You always have access to our entire staff.  We know that many powersports dealerships today are "group" owned having a strong similarity to auto dealerships and not in a good way. Their management teams have no investment in the dealership and it shows.  We call them 90 day wonders:  if the don't produce results, they're gone!  At Van DerZee Motorplex you will work directly with the owners who truly want to earn your business. Our General Manager, Joe Johnson is our son-in-law!  You will not be shuffled from manager to manager and then to the dreaded Finance office.  Just try speaking with the owners of a multi-line "Group Owned" dealership!

In June of 2018, our 3 daughters, Megan, Carrie and Amanda along with their husbands opened Three Blondes Brewing, a microbrewery and restaurant ATTACHED to the Motorplex.  With over the top food and great craft brews, Three Blondes Brewing is a gathering place like no other!  It even opens into the Motoroplex showroom. In 2023 it was voted Michigan's MOST POPULAR BREWERY!!

South Haven is located on the shore of Lake Michigan.  In fact, you can take Phoenix Street just 1 1/2 miles west of the Motorplex and you'll go through the downtown and end up right on the beach!  Our family learned small town values living in South Haven, a town of just 5,000 folks (35,000 in summer).

On WATERCRAFT our Michigan registration package is $289.00.  If Michigan is reciprocal with your state we will also collect sales tax up to 6% which will be credited toward your total amount due to your state or registration.
