The Kawasaki 750-RS, also called Z2, is a four cylinder motorcycle made by Kawasaki as part of their Z2 series, introduced in 1973 for the Japanese market only. Regulations at the time mandated a maximum capacity of 750 cc (746 cu in), so the900 cc (55 cu in) Kawasaki Z1 could not be sold in Japan .The new 746 cc engine was built with newly designed pistons and crankshaft parts to give it a feel similar to the Z1's900 cc four cylinder engine. The engine had a maximum output of 69HP at 9,000rpm and could propel the Z2 to a maximum speed of 170 km/h. (MPH is 105.6)

Although this motorcycle is most referred to as Z2, it isperfectly acceptable to refer to it as 750-RS. This is one of those bikes that officially appears to have 2 names.  All Kawasaki literature refers to this model as either 750-RS or Z2 (or both)depending on what reference you are reading. Clearly, in Japan, either name is OK. The term “RS” stood for “Roadster”.

This is a Kawasaki 1974, Z2, 750-RS. It is among the rarest Kawasaki built. This bike has been refurbished frame up to insure vintage originality.

Braking is provided by a front disc with a single-piston caliper and a rear drum. The master cylinder was rebuilt, the steering-neck bearings were replaced with roller bearings, and the swingarm bushings were replaced during the refurbishment.

A 220-km/h Nippon Denso speedometer and matching 12k-rpmtachometer flank a keyed ignition and warning lights for turn signals, neutral, high beam, and oil pressure. The five-digit odometer shows approximately 0miles. It is believed to have original 8,000 miles on the engine before refurbishment.
