1985 HONDA VF1000R, Only imported into the US for two years (1985-86), the VF1000R was Honda's production version of the legendary V4 race bikes made famous by the likes of Freddie Spencer, Mike Baldwin, Fred Merkel and Joey Dunlop, and the first Honda street bike to use the gear-driven cams developed for the factory racers.  The 1986 VFR had dual headlights, gold upper triple clamp and a few other minor differences from the 1985 model.

This is a higher miles daily driver bike with a few aftermarket upgrades to improve the daily riding experience. The rear shock is a works adjustable and is a hard to find item. The exhaust pipe is a classic Hindle with an exceptional note to it. I am the second owner of this bike and I would put the mileage in the Neighborhood of 60K. When I bought the bike the original owner had it stored for 10 plus years. The bike has always been a supplemental vehicle and not a daily commuter. It was used mostly for enjoyment although there were the occasions where the VF had to fill in during main bike or car repairs but these were rare occasions

This could by no means be considered an originally equipped motorcycle. The bike looks like you might expect a well-maintained 28-year-old motorcycle to look. The fairing has been replaced do to excessive damage and the current fairing has tangled with the sidewalk a few times, I thought the kickstand was down. The seat is cracked from age and the Gas tank has a sizable dent that is surprisingly easy to not see. The tires have decent tread and the chain and sprocket were replaced at the same time as the tires. Oil change was just completed and has always been changed on a regular schedule. All of the fairings are cracked, chipped, dented, or scraped but most are complete. Even the rear pad cover is there. Gauges have been replaced and currently are in working order. Turn signals have been replaced with more streamline versions. Although the bike is not original the most parts are correct such as mirrors stays, gauges and paint scheme The true indentify of this bike remains strong and this bike gets a lots of interest where ever it goes.

Buy a piece of history and drive it with out the worries of a museum piece and have fun.

Oh the places you could go, in style, 1985 style!
