Cosmetic Issues
Bike is beautiful but it does have a few scratches. Most of them are visible in the pictures with this ad and video.
- Several very small tares at very top of seat (put rubber cement on them so they aren't getting worse)
- Scratch on plate behind and above right foot peg (definitely noticeable)
- Several large scratches on bottom right of windshield (definitely noticeable, the largest cosmetic blemish on the bike, but no an issue with visibility)
- Scratches on body under left bumper (very visible, but only if you are on your hands and knees)
- Scratched and rubbed area on corner of lip of rear case (most of this scratch is hidden by reflective tape)
- Dent on rear rim (Rockridge Two Wheels did not list as an issue in used bike report because it has no mechanical effect, but did mention it to me). Couldn't find it to take a picture.
- Crack on top of a lip piece on inside liner of right side case has loosened lip (not secured by top screw). Since lip is held in place by inside of door when case is closed this is not an issue
- Several rubbed/scratched areas on the rubber bumpers in front and back.
- Very mall scratch on left side case
- Scratch on inside of left case release handle (don't have a good picture, but it's pretty minor)
About the Bike And Why I'm selling
My wife and I bought this bike brand new and 2002 and rode it across the country. From 2002 to 2013 we always did a couple of trips a year on it. From 2013 my wife stopped riding for health reasons so the big bike was only ridden a few hundred miles a year, if that. The bike was bought at BMW of Louisville, maintained by BMW of Marin (now gone) and BMW Motorcycles of San Francisco and, when not on the road, always garaged.
