Covering a hugely diverse range of subjects, the information is arranged both by category and alphabetically, and information on a notable murder in Canning Town can be seen placed next to significant dates in the history of cannons. The books were seen as indispensable to industries such as journalism at the time.

CONDITION

In cloth binding with gilt detailing. Externally sound, there is some wear and markings to the boards, extremities and backstrip, as well as some more minor wear to the joints and tenderness to hinges. Internally, the pages are firmly bound and are bright and clean throughout. Overall: VERY GOOD.
