At our dealership we work very hard to accurately describe our vehicles through text descriptions and elaborate photos. When you purchase a pre-owned vehicle it is not a new vehicle. Any used vehicle can have normal wear and blemishes. Before placing a bid please read the descriptions thoroughly and view all pictures. - Has Rock Chips - We are selling this 1992 Harley-Davidson FLHS (the Electra Glide Sport model, a predecessor to the Road King) as a *VALUE BUY* and a *PROJECT/PARTS BIKE* partially for the reasons noted in the separate section labeled "Mechanical," and because of the bike's barely-Fair (to Poor) cosmetic condition. The paint has been changed from the factory's original Candy Sapphire Sunglo to black, and the pinstriping on the saddlebags doesn't match the fuel tank. (Depending on the next owner's preferences the bike is destined to become either a total "rat bike" or perhaps for a complete re-paint.) Also, the chrome overall shows quite a bit of oxidation and there's rust spots on various pieces/parts like the wheel spokes, indicating it's quite possible that this bike "lived outside" for most of its life. That said, this *VALUE BUY* will sell for cheap As-Is since it doesn't belong on our Showroom Floor. - We are selling this 1992 Harley-Davidson FLHS (the Electra Glide Sport model by V.I.N.) as a *VALUE BUY* and a *PROJECT/PARTS BIKE* mostly for the cosmetic reasons noted in the separate section labeled "Exterior," and for the mechanical issues that are apparent even without an "official" check-over by our Service Dept. The battery DOES hold a charge and the bike DOES turn over & almost run with some coaxing, but it's been sitting for a bit since trade-in and all of the motor oil is likely down in the crankcase, making it a good bet to sump the next time it's fired up. It's very much worth noting that the previous owner DID ride it here for trade-in, and before parking it our Service Dept. was riding it in & out of the building each day, so while this Electra Glide likes to "mark its territory" (drop oil from underneath the crankcase breather tube, a design flaw in the pre-'93 version of this model) after running it should still be in usable condition. Outside of that... well, it's a "grab bag" bike! In other words, we didn't spend the Labor Hours/technician's time to fully diagnose the condition since it was destined for eBay or the auction. We're hoping that someone with time & ability & knowledge to do repairs themselves can be happy with a Good Deal. The frame alone should be worth somewhere in the neighborhood of what we'll need to sell this Evo-era piece, so you can schedule your own in-person inspection by calling Brent @ 512-422-0761! - Please note that while the odometer reads 12,126 this mileage reading seems highly unlikely for a motorcycle of this age. Either way, due to that age this bike is considered "TMU" / True Miles Unknown / or mileage-exempt, depending upon the phrase you choose to use.
- Shinko motorcycle tire on the Front with okay tread depth remaining, but the slightest of cuts in the tread pattern may indicate the rubber's due for replacement - Dunlop rubber on the Rear with perhaps 20% tread life left.
- This 1992 Electra Glide Sport should be considered a *VALUE BUY* and/or a *PROJECT/PARTS BIKE* because of what's noted under the sections labeled "Exterior" and "Mechanical." Out of State Buyers
Out of state buyers are not charged tax, title, or license if paying cash or arranging their own financing; customer is responsible for registering the vehicle in their home state under this scenario. Out of state buyers using Cowboy Harley-arranged financing WILL be charged TT&L appropriate to their home state and these taxes/fees will be paid on their behalf. Documentary fees and Texas V.I.T. do apply in either case.
Taxes and Fees
In-state buyers will be charged state and local taxes, title, registration, and documentary fees. Our documentation fee is $125. All sales transactions must be completed within 7 days of auction close.
Deposit
We require a $500 deposit within 3 days of winning the auction of a pre-owned motorcycle (OR BEFORE THE END OF THE CALENDAR MONTH, whichever occurs first). A $1,000 deposit is required on any new bike. Please call the dealership to make arrangements for payment.
Auction Policies
Customers with zero or negative feedback on eBay Motors please contact us prior to bidding. Otherwise, we reserve the right to cancel your bid. Understand this is only to protect the integrity of the auction. Winning bidder must contact the dealership within 24 hours of the auction close, make payment of a security deposit within 3 days (OR BEFORE THE END OF THE CALENDAR MONTH, whichever occurs first), and the purchase transaction completed within 7 calendar days. We reserve the right to re-list or sell the vehicle in the event of a no-contact/non-paying bidder.
