Original Troy Bayliss Ducati Corse 998 F02 bodywork -
Collectors, Ducatista! Offered here is the original bodywork from Troy Bayliss’ 2nd
bike as used at the Laguna Seca World Superbike Round on July 14th,
2002. Troy had won the 2001 championship and at the Laguna round
he won his 14th race of the year, almost cruising to the 2002
championship….that was until Colin Edwards staged one of the most epic fight
backs in recent history….Starting at the 2nd Round of the Laguna
Seca race he won the last 9 races on the trot to secure his 2nd
world championship! I have the nose fairing, tail section, side fairings, front
fender and belly pan from Troy’s Ducati 998 F02….everything except the tank! As was customary the factory re-used, and possibly repainted
bodywork from other bikes to complete this #2 bike’s set… Everything is Carbon Fiber or a Carbon/Kevlar mix… the
decals are all racing decals, so they’re not clear coated! ·
The nose fairing clearly has Troy’s name on it and
is in excellent condition ·
The tail section is also in excellent condition
and has the rubber seat pad. ·
The left side fairing is in great condition and
has a rub mark, right where the reinforcement pad is. ·
The right side fairing looks great from the
outside but has a factory repair on the inside, also the word “Silver” is
written on it. (see picture) ·
The belly pan shows burn marks form the exhaust
and has actually burnt trough in one area….also has the words “BiBo #1” written
on the inside (see picture) ·
The front fender is in excellent condition and
has the word “Xaus” written in it. (see picture) Although I don’t have the original tank that would have been
on this bike, I do have a Ducati Corse Carbon Fiber tank that is clear coated
only and would need to be painted to match, but it will be included with this
auction… The 2nd bonus item is an unused, signed Troy
Bayliss Suomy helmet, signed by TB21 himself!.....included at no extra cost. Free shipping in the continental US, this collection is
a Ducatista’s dream! Happy bidding… |
