The Hodaka Ace B+ is the final, and most advanced, version of the original, classic red frame Hodaka line. This particular example spent 40 years on a Wyoming ranch ridden by three generations of the same family before undergoing a complete restoration. As can be seen, the cosmetics are terrific. This was a bare frame restoration. Where possible all the original parts were painted or chromed as needed (the chrome was done by Browns Plating in KY, deservedly famous for their show quality work). Original parts not deemed able to be restored to perfection were replaced with NOS parts from Strictly Hodaka. All the mechanicals were rebuilt. The motor received new bearings, seals, piston, rings, clutch, etc. New wheel and steering bearings were installed. There are new sprockets and chain and, of course, new tires of correct type and size. The electrics have been completely gone through, wiring, bulbs, etc., as well as new ignition components. Since the restoration this bike has just 2 (TWO) miles, just enough to ensure it runs great with no leaks.. It has been seen in public just three times; it was one of only two dozen motorcycles accepted at the Hilton Head Concours d’Elegance, then I had it on featured display at the 2016 Riding Into History event in FL. Finally I entered it into the recent Antique Motorcycle Club of America (AMCA) Lucas National at Barber Motorsports Park. At the latter show it was scored by the AMCA national judges and received a final score of 99 points and was awarded a First Junior Award as the highest scoring bike among all first time entries. Since then the Hodaka has been parked, covered, in my climate controlled shop. I sincerely believe this is as perfect an early Hodaka as can be found anywhere. So why is it for sale? Because I have a serious Bultaco habit (I’ve got 8 of ‘em) and I’m thinning out other models. I am still looking for a couple of Bultacos, so if you have a Lobito, please let me know maybe we can make a deal. Along with the Hodaka I have an Ace 100B Owner’s Handbook, an Ace 100B Owner’s Handbook and Illustrated Parts List, a large Hodaka Master Parts List, as well as some digital files. I currently run the bike with a dry cell security battery, but also have a new correct Yuasa battery, dry with an acid pack. I have set a sensible reserve, less than the cost of the restoration. This bike comes with a Bill of Sale only, as WY did not title small trail bikes back then. This sale will be final, as is, where is, so please look carefully at the photos, ask any questions you might have, or contact me to view it in person. I won’t ship, but I will accommodate your shipper as much as possible. I will require a $500 deposit via Paypal within 24 hours after the auction ends with the balance due in 7 days.
