For auction is a rare opportunity to own one of Triumph's most powerful flat track/TT racing motors of the 1960's, the 1967 Triumph 650cc TT special. Purchased this a few years ago as I own a matching numbers T120TT and the serial numbers were only a few apart so I knew it was the real deal. My thoughts were to build a real lightweight trackmaster framed bike to have fun on the street but still have too many projects. If you have the correct TT frame for this, well you hit the lottery. If you want to build a hot street bike, then this is the ticket.
Engine came out of a chopper approx 30 years ago and was rebuilt 15-20 years ago at Countryside Cycle, Tallahassee, Florida. Engine has never been installed since but changed hands a couple of times so I do not have any documentation for the work done. However I have removed the primary cover, spark plugs and valve covers for inspection- New sprocket, primary chain, piston, valves, patent plate are present. It does NOT include carbs. All ports, vents and oil lines have been sealed and the engine turns over smoothly and shifts. Pistons are .020 as you can see in the picture. Cosmetically it is nice with no broken fins or major scratches, etc. It is not quite show condition with some slight dirty/ stained areas on cases and some painted fasteners. I have looked closely and see no welds of any kind indicating abuse.
This auction is for local pick up only but we will do our best to help you with shipping this item. It will be bolted in the heavy duty box shown. We also go to a few bike shows and races in the Southeast during the year so maybe we could meet at one of these. It is in our garage tucked away for safe keeping. Please feel free to ask questions before bidding.
Because I did not build this motor, it is sold as is with no warranty. |
