At our dealership we work very hard to accurately describe our vehicles through text descriptions and elaborate photos. When you purchase a pre-owned vehicle it is not a new vehicle. Any used vehicle can have normal wear and blemishes. Before placing a bid please read the descriptions thoroughly and view all pictures. - Fully Detailed - We had this '05 Road King fully-detailed prior to picture-taking and can have it cleaned again prior to either shipping or in-person pick-up.
- Has Rock Chips - We are selling this 2005 Harley-Davidson FLHR-I (a fuel-injected Road King model) as a *VALUE BUY* and a *PROJECT/PARTS BIKE* primarily for the reasons noted in the separate section labelled "Mechanical," and because of the bike's barely-Fair (to Poor) cosmetic condition. The paint is mismatched, with the original H-D "Black Cherry Pearl/Black Pearl" two-tone scheme on the tank but a faded burgundy on the front fender and mismatched aftermarket black-lidded saddlebags. (Depending on the next owner's preferences the bike is destined to become either a total "rat bike" or perhaps for a complete re-paint.) Also, the front fender trim piece is cracked and both the lower front forks, engine guard (particularly the left-hand side), and the cowling around the headlight show significant signs of road wear. The Genuine H-D Billet-style grips show weathering on the black rubber strips, and it's possible that this bike "lived outside" for most of its life. That said, this *VALUE BUY* will sell for cheap As-Is since it doesn't belong on our Showroom Floor. - Factory Engine - Twin Cam 88! - Displacement: 1450cc (88.42 cubic inches); Engine Type: V-twin, 4-stroke; Torque:80.4 ft.-lbs. @ 3,400 RPM; Compression: 8.8:1; Bore x Stroke:95.3 x 101.6mm (3.8 x 4.0 inches); Fuel System: Electronic Sequential Port Fuel Injection (ESPFI or just EFI); Fuel Control: Double Overhead Cams/Twin Cam (DOHC); Cooling System:Air; Gearbox: 5-speed; Transmission Type, Final Drive: Belt
- Starts Right Up - We are selling this 2005 Harley-Davidson FLHR-I (the fuel-injected Road King model) as a *VALUE BUY* and a *PROJECT/PARTS BIKE* for the cosmetic reasons noted in the separate section labelled "Exterior" and for the mechanical issues noted here: 1. All Harleys that we accept as a trade-in go through our Service Dept. for a technician's check-over, and one of the first things noticed on this bike is that the handlebars are slightly loose and the neck bearings should be adjusted; 2. Also, while the bike will fire after having been on a batter charger/tender for a little while the actual battery's not doing a good job of holding a charge and should probably be replaced; 3. There's an oil leak from the inner primary and the primary cover / inspection cover / and clutch cover gaskets should be replaced - cheap on Parts, but Labor-intensive; 4. The left-side saddlebag support is broken and the hardware is missing; 5. There's an exhaust leak, which can hopefully be repaired with two new exhaust seals; 6. The lead for the battery tender doesn't work; 7. The air shock system (the shock valve/tube) has been cut and some hardware is missing; 8. Both the Front and Rear brake systems should be flushed, the Front calipers should be cleaned & exercised, and both the Rear pads & rotor require replacement; 9. Both a new oil dipstick and clutch cable kit should be installed; 10. The transmission trap door has a leak - again, cheap on Parts (maybe $18) but long on Labor (about 2.5 Hours); 11. The air filter element should be thoroughly cleaned; 12. The saddlebags are pretty beat up and the left-side latch does not close, and, finally; 13. a full fluid change is recommended. As in this case, when we determine that required repairs don't make sense in light of Parts and Technician's Time (Labor - mostly Labor) vs. the book value of a motorcycle we try to sell these bikes As-Is before sending them to auction - hope that someone with time & ability & knowledge to do repairs themselves can be happy with a Good Deal. PLEASE NOTE: Once this determination is made we ALSO stop looking for additional issues, so this list may or may not be comprehensive - can schedule your own in-person inspection by calling Brent @ 512-422-0761! Now, with all of those mechanical negatives/areas of concern noted do be advised this '08 Nightster DOES start up and there are no engine or transmission noises - powertrain is functional. Out of State Buyers
Out of state buyers are not charged tax, title, or license if paying cash or arranging their own financing; customer is responsible for registering the vehicle in their home state under this scenario. Out of state buyers using Cowboy Harley-arranged financing WILL be charged TT&L appropriate to their home state and these taxes/fees will be paid on their behalf. Documentary fees and Texas V.I.T. do apply in either case.
Taxes and Fees
In-state buyers will be charged state and local taxes, title, registration, and documentary fees. Our documentation fee is $125. All sales transactions must be completed within 7 days of auction close.
Deposit
We require a $500 deposit within 3 days of winning the auction of a pre-owned motorcycle (OR BEFORE THE END OF THE CALENDAR MONTH, whichever occurs first). A $1,000 deposit is required on any new bike. Please call the dealership to make arrangements for payment.
Auction Policies
Customers with zero or negative feedback on eBay Motors please contact us prior to bidding. Otherwise, we reserve the right to cancel your bid. Understand this is only to protect the integrity of the auction. Winning bidder must contact the dealership within 24 hours of the auction close, make payment of a security deposit within 3 days (OR BEFORE THE END OF THE CALENDAR MONTH, whichever occurs first), and the purchase transaction completed within 7 calendar days. We reserve the right to re-list or sell the vehicle in the event of a no-contact/non-paying bidder.
