If you have been looking for a 450X in awesome
condition, this is it. The bike has just 240 miles on it. I am selling because
the wife says I have too many bikes. I have several dirt bikes as well as a
garage full of road and vintage race bikes. This one is going because it is in
such great condition that I can't bare to thrash it the way I do my other dirt
bikes. The 449CC BMW designed motor is very well balanced and pulls well at low
revs. Between the factory Ohlins rear suspension and smooth non-hydraulic
clutch, you will simply love the balance when you need to carefully work the
rocks. The multi-plate clutch engages the same regardless of heat build up which
is a big advantage of the BMW design.
The G450X was designed to be a racer from the
start. It was delivered with 3 front pinions (front sprockets) so you could
chose between a set up for dirt racing, rock climbing, or serious trials.
All original pinions are included. As you likely know, BMW designed this bike
to be narrow with lots of ground clearance to handle most obstacles. This is
the best enduro/dual sport bike I've ever ridden. It is 100% street legal
and was designed to be quickly converted to full race configuration in minimum
time. The bike was delivered with a jumper plug for off road use. The plug
re-maps the EFI to get 11 more horsepower that is designed for off-road use
only (41 HP street, 52 HP with jumper). I have installed the optional Touratech
switch that does the same as the BMW jumper except you just flip the switch for
the extra power rather than install or un-install a plug each time you want
that extra power / or street mapping. I guess the federales did not want
you to easily access that additional power so they made BMW use a separate
jumper plug. Problem solved thanks to Touratech.
The bike is currently titled for street use and has a current state inspection. The bike has recently been inspected by an authorized BMW dealer and has a dealer-installed new battery. An oil and filter change has been performed within the last 30 days. Front and rear Brembo brakes are in excellent condition.The tires are like new. Seller has right to end auction early.
