Buell Lightning description

2000 Buell Lightning X1. Fantastic condition with 10,619 mis currently and will stay that way because the bike is parked in the garage. The bikes engine was rebuilt on 7/15/2013, and has only been ridden around 100 mis since. I have over $1,800 in the rebuild alone! I have receipts where I had the engine rebuilt. FRESH REBUILD WITH UNDER 100 mileS! When I had it rebuilt, I had it bored .10 over, with bigger pistons and valves, all machine work done and everything is fresh! Bike has following upgrades: K&N air intake, PM light weight wheels, New NGK plugs, fresh fully synthetic oil, Buell Racing Upgraded Race ECM, Air box delete, Carbon fiber fairings, integrated tail lamps in the tag, upgraded exhaust/intake manifold. This is the best handling bike I have ever owned and rides good. The 1203 VOLT Twin engine has impressive torque and overall performance especially after the rebuild, the mechanic told me that with the bore it added a ton of torque and speed. This bike is 1 of a kind and very fast, and rumbles like a race car engine. Georgia title in hand, in my name. CONS: There seems to be some kind of very tiny oil leak coming from somewhere and I cannot tell where it is coming from, it drips a tiny bit when its running for awhile or riding around.

Zero Motorcycles Promotes Askenazi to CTO

Tue, 24 May 2011

Zero Motorcycles has promoted Abe Askenazi to the position of chief technology officer. A former Buell engineer, Askenazi joined Zero Motorcycles in 2010 as vice president of engineering where he played a vital role in developing the company’s 2011 line-up, overhauling over 80% of Zero’s existing electric motorcycle line-up while adding the Zero XU and street legal versions of the Zero X and Zero MX in just 10 months on the job. “Abe’s ability to effectively execute on an aggressive product development plan, select the best new technologies and rally his team is remarkable.

College Pair Build Two-Wheel Clothes Dryer

Tue, 03 Feb 2009

What could be considered this generation’s Harold and Kumar, a pair of Swarthmore College engineering students have designed and built an experimental hydrogen fuel cell-powered “motorcycle.” Sourcing parts from what looks to be an early generation Buell Lightning and the unearthed remnants of Robby the Robot, the duo may have just created the World’s quietest and slowest two-wheeled grant-waster. Constructed with the intent to “evaluate the viability of a hydrogen economy by studying real-world data,” the two-man team says that once the experiment yields the likely results that anyone who uses a hydrogen-powered vehicle is a homo, results predicted by the pair’s Alpha Beta member roommate, they’ll abandon any legitimate research efforts and just use it to follow women that would normally avoid them. “Since it doesn’t make any noise we’ll get a lot closer to the girls before they have a chance to formulate lame excuses to leave,” said the elder of the two.
