Buell Lightning description

For sale here is my black 2008 Buell xb12stt Thunderstorm, which has approximately 14,200 miles on the odometer. This bike is in excellent condition and has always been a very reliable machine for me. I purchased the bike when it was just a year old from its original owner with 5,600 miles. I have owned the bike for almost 4 years now and it has never been down, or needed to be trailered home early from a ride. I have upgraded a few parts on the bike to make it run to its full potential. This STT currently has the popular drummer muffler which was purchased brand new from drummer themselves. I also upgraded the stock air filter to a reusable K&N air filter. To ensure the bike ran correctly with these two changes I purchased the RACE ECM (pictured) from Eric Buell Racing which is specially tuned for a K&N filter and Drummer exhaust. I changed the air box cover and the fly screen to black which was a personal preference, bike was originally white. I also purchased a set of aftermarket adjustable clutch and front brake levers (pictured). Battery was purchased new last spring so I expect it to be good for at least another 5 years. The bike’s fluids have been changed just over month ago. Front brake pads have approximately two seasons of ride time on them. Tires have quite a bit of wear and can probably use a change. Grips and belt are brand new.

Finding an STT can be difficult so don’t miss this opportunity! Feel free to ask questions.

Buell Assets Liquidation About to Begin

Mon, 25 Jan 2010

In what is sure to be a painfully long and tortuous process for the former Buell Motorcycle Company (from Eric down to the graveyard shift janitor), the final act of its disassembly will be handled by Grand Rapids, Michigan – based Liquid Asset Partners. In a release from Liquid Assets, the company states the “liquidation sale will start January 28th and run everyday for 30 days until everything is sold. Regardless of cost or loss, millions of dollars worth of equipment and tools will be sold directly on the factory floor.” But don’t think this is just a sell-off of the last few skeletal remains of bikes.
