Buell Lightning description

2003 Buell XB9S Lightning.  You will not find a better bike for the money.  I have the reserve set low.  I purchased this motorcycle from a wholesaler who had it sitting for almost two years.  I work in the car business at a new car dealership.  This bike was traded in on a new truck and then sold to a friend of mine(wholesaler).  The mileage was misstated by the title clerk of the dealership, she wrote 13,000 on the title instead of the true mileage of 11,xxx.  So the bike actually has less miles on than the title states.

Overall cosmetic condition is very good with a few minor scratches.  Mechanically the bike runs and rides 100% as is should.  Pulls strong and shifts smooth up and down through all 5 gears.  Great clutch feel.  Handling is rock solid.  Rides straight and smooth as an arrow.  Crisp brakes.  Simply a fantastic performing bike for the money.  Has a very small oil leak from the clutch cable where it goes into the primary, just a few drops when parked.  Could be fixed with a new clutch cable($50)

As the condition report above states, the bike runs great all around.  It's completely ready to ride and enjoy.  I purchased it and dailed in the suspension for my weight(190), went over every bolt, put tires to correct psi, put in a brand new battery, changed the engine and transmission oil and oil filter.

The last four pictures show the imperfections from a previous owner.  Scratches and scuffs on the from left turn signal, frame puck, engine oil cooler cover and swing arm.  The close up of the clutch cable is where it leaks slightly.

I have a clean title in hand.  Mileage may go up a little from me riding it occasionally.

Thank you for looking and happy bidding!

The story behind the 2010 Buell Blast Motorcycle [video]

Wed, 05 Aug 2009

If you haven’t heard, or have seen the new 2010 Buell Blast, you should check it out before viewing the video below. Buell has re-branded itself over the last month or so and have been taking a very close look at themselves.  Not only did they change their logo, but they decided to put to rest a motorcycle that just didn’t fit what they really wanted to be making.  Sport bikes. So the 2010 Buell Blast is a crushed hunk of metal signifying the end of that model.  There will be no Blast in the future so don’t hold your breath!

Results From Day 2 Of World Superbike Testing At Phillip Island

Tue, 18 Feb 2014

World Superbike testing at Phillip Island came to a close today, and when the dust settled, reigning champion Tom Sykes stamped his authority, setting the fastest time of the test at 1:30.239, just five thousandths shy of the outright lap record held by Carlos Checa. The time was set during the morning session of testing, though nobody was able to best Sykes for the remainder of the day. Eugene Laverty, who was fastest on day one, showed his pace was no fluke as he stayed near the top of the time sheets, ultimately finishing second behind Sykes, with a best time of 1:30.513.
