2000 Buell Lightning X1/S1, This bike is in excellent shape. Especially for the vintage. Shows only minor normal wear for its age. 11,967 miles. No leaks, no smoke, runs like a top. The following has been done or added within the last 500 miles: Fresh engine oil and filter (Castrol RS 20/50 full synthetic). Fresh primary lube. New K&N air filter. Supertrapp muffler installed. New ProGrip grips. New golf club mirrors. Converted to XB rocker covers and breathers. New NGK plugs and Accel 8.8mm wires. New Lyndall Gold brake pads front and rear. The Pirelli Diablos are in great shape (front is like new, rear is 90%). Also included are the original muffler (it has been cored), another aluminum seat frame (stripped for polishing), and the matching red belly fairing and mounting hardware (has some rock chips on the front lip from the front tire -I like the bike without it installed). Synthetic lubricant company AMSOIL has been a sponsor of Erik Buell Racing for a few years now, backing the fellow Wisconsin-based company’s racing efforts since 2011. Now that EBR has started mass production of the 1190RX streetbike, AMSOIL is continuing the partnership by giving one away. A 2014 EBR 1190RX is the grand prize of the AMSOIL Building Legends Sweepstakes, which runs now through Nov.

I had a unique opportunity this week to sit down with Oliver Shokouh, the founder of the Love Ride, only days before the 25th anniversary of the purportedly largest one-day rally in the world, kicks-off this coming Sunday, October 26. First and foremost I’m very grateful for Oliver to set aside over half an hour of his precious time so close to the event. Not only does he head-up this massive event, he’s also busy running the very busy and successful Harley-Davidson/Buell of Glendale (California).

2013 AIMExpo: EBR to Distribute Hero Motorcycles in North America

Erik Buell Racing (EBR) announced at the 2013 AIMExpo that it will be distributing Hero brand motorcycles and scooters in North America. Specific models to be offered and pricing details have yet to be determined. “The actual EBR collaboration with Hero MotoCorp began in late 2011, when we were contracted to deliver a concept hybrid scooter for Hero in record time for the January 2012 Delhi show,” says EBR founder Erik Buell.
