Buell Firebolt description

2007 Buell Firebolt XB12R, Track or commute. Low miles. Cleanest one around! - Whether you’re using it as a finely tuned track weapon or a daily commuter, the Buell Firebolt owes much of its handling prowess to the 52 inch wheelbase, 21 degree rake and 3.3 inches of trail. The aggressive geometry combined with the rigid chassis makes the Firebolt nimble and precise. Up front, the sportfighter features a fully adjustable Showa inverted fork while the rear is equipped with an adjustable Showa cartridge. The result is a sportbike that seems almost telepathic, effortlessly responding to rider input. Powered by a 1,203 cc Thunderstorm air/oil/fan-cooled, fuel-injected 45 degree V-twin, this is the motorcycle for riders who demand a premium styled sportfighter with even more horsepower and torque.

Erik Buell Racing has released the third episode of its series about the new 1190RS sportbike. The latest episode focuses on the company’s “Made in America” philosophy, with its goal of producing a high-performance superbike in the U.S.A. As Erik Buell, racer Geoff May and designer Tony Stefanelli discuss the themes of innovation and freedom, we can’t help but wonder however whether they’re talking about American ideals, or about being out from Harley-Davidson’s umbrella.

Fri, 17 Jan 2014

The International Motorcycling Federation is considering modifying its homologation requirements for the World Superbike Championship following Bimota‘s somewhat surprising plans to re-enter the series. Under current regulations, manufacturers must produce a minimum number of motorcycles for it to be eligible to compete in the production-based WSBK championship. The official regulations currently require a minimum of 125 units produced for an initial homologation inspection, 500 units produced by June 30 of the current year, 1,000 units by the end of the current year and 2,000 units by the end of the following year.
