Buell Firebolt description

Whether you’re using it as a finely tuned track weapon or a daily commuter, the Buell Firebolt owes much of its handling prowess to the 52 inch wheelbase, 21 degree rake and 3.3 inches of trail. The aggressive geometry combined with the rigid chassis makes the Firebolt nimble and precise. Up front, the sportfighter features a fully adjustable Showa® inverted fork while the rear is equipped with an adjustable Showa cartridge. The result is a sportbike that seems almost telepathic, effortlessly responding to rider input. Powered by a 1,203 cc Thunderstorm® air/oil/fan-cooled, fuel-injected 45 degree V-twin, this is the motorcycle for riders who demand a premium styled sportfighter with even more horsepower and torque. This bike only has 10068 miles and is ready for the open road (as long as its a very twisty road) Has just been checked out in our shop and runs and rides perfectly with no issues. Where else can you find a big bore sportbike for under 3k unless it has been dropped and dragged across the salt flats. The fuel injected engine is problem free and good to go for tens of thousands more miles and the 5 speed transmission shifts flawlessly. The latest episode focuses on the company’s “Made in America” philosophy, with its goal of producing a high-performance superbike in the U.S.A. As Erik Buell, racer Geoff May and designer Tony Stefanelli discuss the themes of innovation and freedom, we can’t help but wonder however whether they’re talking about American ideals, or about being out from Harley-Davidson’s umbrella.

Last Buell Motorcycle Rolls Off the Line

Fri, 13 Nov 2009

The mournful expressions on the Buell workers’ faces in this photo say more than words can. So long old friend. Harley-Davidson announced yesterday that the final bike built by Buell, a Lightning XB12Scg, rolled off the production line on October 30.
