BSA A50R description

Vintage 1967 BSA unit construction 500 single carb twin with a very nicely constructed wood and alloy paneled launch style side car. New tires, new exhaust, new custom wiring and a new alternator stator. Starts easily with a single gentle prod on the kickstarter, go down the road with a minimum of tug toward the right. Has a very well constructed vintage style wood and alloy paneled sidecar on a chassis that I believe was specially constructed to fit this bike. Currently the speedometer is not working although the speedometer appears to be good and there is a new drive and a new cable. Petcocks were just replaced with new BAP units in favor of the original Ewarts that tend to leak the moment the sealing cork dries just a little.

The Fonz Never Really Rode a Motorcycle!

Tue, 02 Jun 2009

According to the “King of Cool” himself, “The Fonz” (Henry Winkler) never actually rode any motorcycles during the ten year Happy Days television run.  Winkler, never rode a bike in real life either, he has dyslexia, which made it difficult for him to co-ordinate the clutch, throttle and brake.  Instead, the bikes (Harley Davidson’s, Triumph’s, BSA’s were used) were mounted on a piece of wood with wheels to make it look like he was riding, even though I am not shocked, I am a little disappointed… You can watch the interview with Winkler, the famous motorcycle jump “The Fonz” made over 14 trashcans and a bonus “Jump the Shark” video after the jump.
