BSA A50 description

This is for a 1967 BSA Royal Star A50 500cc motorcycle. It is partially restored. I am willing to deliver and will accommodate any request to see. The bike was apart when I purchased it. I put the engine in, brought it down to the head and it has a new piston and would imagine rings to go with it. The engine needs to be lashed before it would be ready. Its in the bike and has good compression. I just rebuilt the carb. I have new front and rear tires, battery, handlebars, handbrake and choke lever, rear rim and spoke set, brakes in the rear hub, tool pouch, ignition, all kinds of NOS parts. I went over the bike sanding and painting. The bike is complete aside from an exhaust, front wheel and hub, and some misc badges. I have the bike essentially in boxes except the engine, carb, oil tank, wiring harness, and the front forks are partially installed. Gas tank has minimal rust, oil tanks clean. Includes shop manual and reciepts for most parts. Have at least 3200 in parts and time, not looking for that at all, though. Reserve is MUCH less. NO TITLE, will write bill of sale. Bike is on Nantucket. Thanks for looking

What’s Old Is New Again – Video

Mon, 14 Oct 2013

There’s something distinctly cool about old British motorcycles. From the wire wheels, the minimal bodywork, and the exposed engines which give off a thunderous bark, I’ve always loved looking at old Triumphs, BSAs and the like from the 60s.  I’ve never owned one though. The reason is simple: old British bikes are needy little maintenance machines notorious for the odd oil leak.

Wed, 02 Feb 2011

Paul Teutel Senior of “American Chopper” fame is having a clear-out of his bike collection but the machines on offer are a far cry from the overblown customs he's renowned for building. Instead, they reveal a passion for vintage British machinery. One of his auctions is for a 1943 BSA M20 and it's currently at $4,500 (£2700) with a $5,000 (£3,080) Buy It Now price

The Steve McQueen Desert Racer

Tue, 24 Mar 2009

There are few motorcycle icons within pop culture that have endured as vividly as that of the late, great Steve McQueen. A man who was at one time the highest paid actor in Hollywood, he avoided the limelight in favor of immersing himself within his passion for motorcycles. Never afraid of getting dirty, McQueen was at his happiest flogging a bike around the track with fellow racers or tinkering with the machines himself.
