BMW r75/5 description

1973 BMW R75/5 custom motorcycle. Frame powder coated, lowered front end, good tires, 900cc engine kit, heads were rebuilt. Engine has approx. 2000 miles on it since top end re-build. Custom seat and mount, rear shocks. Rims are in good shape. Kick start only. Have re-pro coffee can taillight (not installed but wiring is all there). Wasn't sure if that was the light I was going to go with. Local bike show winner.

Has sat for over a year and now has an oil leak from gasket at driveshaft and tranny shift shaft. Fuel tap leaked and messed up paint on bottom part of tank. Smokes slightly when I rode it the other day when you get on the throttle, might have just been from sitting.

Around the world on a Multistrada

Tue, 07 Jun 2011

Ever since Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman rode their BMW’s around the world it seems anyone with a ‘GS’ has an open ticket to ride around the world and then write about it. And fair enough, if I could afford the bike and the trip then I’d be gone as well. Obviously, BMW reaped the rewards when Ewan and Charlie showcased what their GS could really do, changing BMW’s image from solid but stuffy, to solid and cool overnight.
