2005 BMW R1200RT
Sport Touring Motorcycle
75,533 Miles
Up for grabs we have an exceptionally clean R 1200 RT with a factory one piece low seat installed. This bike handles great, just

about as close to a sport bike handles that you. BMW prides themselves on continually improving on their bikes. 2005 was the year

that the 1200 RT replaced the 1150 RT. Saving 44 lbs and increasing power by 15% has made these one of the most sought after BMW

bikes. This bike has 75,5XX miles on it but still rides like a bike with 10k on it. Fully functioning electric windshield blocks tons

of air and can make a huge difference on those long rides. This would be a great bike for anyone that wants a little more storage for

taking things to work or for someone that wants to do some touring on those thrilling switchbacks. There are a few chips in the paint

from 75k miles of running on the road but other than that this one is in excellent shape. This bike also has Hyper Lites Brake Lights

so that everyone will know when you're stopping.

Ohlins Issues Recall Notice For BMW S1000RR And R1200R Steering Dampers

Thu, 15 Aug 2013

Ohlins is issuing a recall notice for select aftermarket steering dampers for the BMW S1000RR and R1200R. The company believes the bracket holding the damper in place to be improperly machined, and a probable material defect in the aluminum alloy could cause stress fractures. Ohlins states that although “there is no risk for losing control during normal riding,” there is a risk the bracket will fail during slow-speed maneuvers, where the bars are turned at maximum steering angle.

My S1000RR has stopped but it's only a broken chain.

Thu, 15 Sep 2011

I know there has been a lack of blogging on my S1000RR recently and that’s because it’s broken, but only a little bit. On July 18th I was at Silverstone looking after some Bahnstormer BMW customers, when late in the afternoon something hit me on the back as I was charging down the Wellington Straight. At that precise moment I also thought I had hit a false neutral but it turns out the chain had snapped.

Cal looking good

Sun, 20 Mar 2011

Make no mistake Cal Crutchlow is doing an amazing job during his short career in Moto GP. He is asking not to be compared to Ben Spies but when you consider Spies had three Moto GP races under his belt at the same point in his career, Cal's 8th position in Qatar qualifying then 11th in the race is a pretty solid start.  He ended 2010 as one of the best world's best superbike riders but the 800cc Moto GP machines require different riding skills. Watching trackside it is easy to see the the riders have to brake later backshift quicker before getting back on the throttle on the corner entry. With the help of advanced electronics this loads the front tyre earlier giving the potential for greater momentum that continues past the apex to the corner exit and beyond.
