2007 ADVENTURE  BMW R 1200 GSA

58,600 miles

This bike was originally purchased new, by a fellow ebayer (gwolf52) in 2007 from a BMW dealer in Bentonville, AR. He set it up to go to Alaska,( Sargent seats, Jesse Boxes, throttle lock, tank bag, etc…) but ended up having to cancel the trip. In June 2008 he listed it on eBay with a little over 500 miles on the odometer.  I made the winning bid and he agreed to make the 400 mile round trip to Bentonville for the first oil change before I got there. I flew out and picked it up with around 1000 miles on the odometer, and rode it home.  I am technically the 2nd owner but this is basically a 1 OWNER BIKE. This was my dream bike at the time and I planned on keeping it for well over 100,000 miles. I have only ran Premium Fuel in it. I changed the oil and filter every 3,000 miles,(except the last one, my trip ended up being a little over 4,000 miles) Final drive and Transmission every 24,000 miles. Regular valve adjustments, etc.. See Maintenance history in pictures.

At 48,500 miles, I decided it was time to revamp it. I had 65 individual pieces powder coated, and used bed liner on the swing arm, New Ohlins Shocks, New full Remus exhaust, and more.

Unfortunately I am unable to ride as much as I used to. With a different career and new hobbies sucking up my free time, this bike has been sitting too much, taking up way too much space. I’ve talked myself out of selling it for the last several months and even took a trip on it back in May, but other interests have taken a priority in my life.

This bike is well maintained, and is in excellent shape for its year/miles. I would not hesitate to ride it anywhere. It has never been in any kind of accident. It has only been dropped once, in my driveway, after I got some new gravel that was really loose. If you look close at the right side engine protective cover and crash bar you’ll see where the powder coating was sprayed over the scuffs/dimples.(see pic) There is the normal rock chips, fading, etc. on the skid plate, front of engine, and other places you would expect for a bike with 58,000+ miles. The Sargent seats show no wear except the front corner of the rear seat.(see pic) I have the factory brand new seats, that have never been used. The Jesse Boxes show some wear/scratches on top corners from gear being strapped to them. If you add up all the extras you’ll see this is a great deal.

OHLINS SUSPENSION FRONT AND REAR. Set up by Stig Petersen. Only 10,000 miles on them.

COMPLETE REMUS HEXCONE EXHAUST. Pipes are currently uncoated; you may want to paint them. I still have the stock exhaust, if you want it.

CUSTOM BRAKE/TAIL LIGHT ASSEMBLY. L.E.D. taillight with an “emergency vehicle” red light that comes on with Brakes. Super bright!!  See pics.

BAKUP PASSENGER SEAT BACK. Like new, used only a few times. See pic.

JESSE BOXES. Locking latches, with cam lock mounting to bike. Easy and quick detachment.

SARGENT SEATS. 58,000 miles but still good shape

FACTORY SEATS. New condition

THROTTLEMEISTER THROTTLE LOCK.  Powder coated black

2- 12V POWER PLUGS. On handle bars for charging items in tank bag

EXTRA TIRES. Metzler Karoo off-road  Only 1100 miles on them

HIGHWAY PEGS.

BMW TANK BAG

RAM MOUNT

K&N air filter

ROX handlebar risers

CYCLE PUMP  Travel air compressor/plug kit. New condition

Plus the factory options for an Adventure Bike: Fog Lights, ABS, 8.7 gallon tank, heated grips, heavy duty alternator, bmw style accessory power plug, etc. etc…

I am in southwest Utah, 100 miles from Las Vegas, NV (McCarran International Airport) Fly in to St. George, UT or Las Vegas, NV, and take the shuttle to St. George UT. Then ride this bike home, or somewhere else.

I would also be willing to deliver it at $1.00/mile from 84770 (depending on scheduling and destination.)

Milan Show: Moto2 tried and tested

Tue, 02 Nov 2010

The insanity of Moto2 doesn't seem like the right home for the elegance of the Rizoma brand. But the Rizoma ProGuard system has helped secure the levers of Toni Elias on his road to championship success in the inaugural Moto2 season. The example above was on an attractive Rizoma-enhanced BMW S1000RR, but the lever guards are not limited to sports bikes, they were also visible on Yamaha's FZ8.  The patented design can tilt up to 10 degrees providing full lever coverage and can be added by simply replacing the bike's existing bar-ends.

Road Test: Mercedes SLR McLaren Roadster

Wed, 09 Oct 2013

In the world of supercars, where image and presence are everything, the Mercedes SLR McLaren Roadster has the role of consummate drama queen perfectly nailed. The rolling thunder soundtrack from its supercharged V8 motor, amplified by its four side exhaust pipes, announces its impending arrival like a fanfare complete with drum rolls. Heads swivel, seeking the source.
