I bought this bike with 11k on it back in 2010, most all of the miles are on road freeway miles, it runs great, no oil burn, fresh valve adjustment, BMW just did a service update free and replaced the fuel pump, it pulls very strong, Custom Paint (matte anthracite grey), new wheel bearings in front, freshly tuned and balanced wheel by Woodys wheel works in CO. Have rebuild-able Wilbur shocks both front and rear on it, pivot pegz, new tires, throttle lock cruise control and mechanically works great. The brake warning light that has been on for over a year with no problem to the braking or operation of the bike, the BMW service tech just said it seems to be a wire possibly cracked as upon test is shows the ignition key security ring as the test fault.

Also has two Jesse panniers on the sides, crash bar, and a storage box on the back (serves as great backrest for your passenger. Beautiful and rather rare 1984 R-80-ST. It runs very well. Has been garaged and started frequently, and ridden in the last 6 months. I was told it is a 1983 even though the paper work says 1984. Speedometer reads 373 miles. It is stock except for: It has been lowered for the needs of a doctor who owned it before we bought it back. The seat, shocks and tires have been modified to lower the entire bike making it a very nice motorcycle for a shorter rider or as a first bike. Nothing has been altered that cannot be taken back to stock. The frame has not been altered at all.

Includes original and very rare Heinrich hand guards which can be installed or removed as you wish. Engine professionally rebuilt and serviced by Ozzie's BMW in Chico CA. Speedo and tach rebuilt by North Hollywood Speedometer -work like new. Comes with many extras as shown in pics. New Heidenau tires, less than 50 miles. I am selling all my motorcycles, there are no issues with this motorcycle. For the last 30 years I've restored several R75 motorcycles (and many Honda, Kawi, Suzuki....) and collected tools and parts which are included. New battery, installed January 24. BMW Motorcycle from Academy Award-Winning Movie, "Milk" (1967)
My wife is in the Screen Actors Guild and works in movies, so the "Milk" production people knew about this bike and rented it for use in the movie. It's the bike in the movie (sequence beginning at about 118 minutes into it) that James Franco uses to pick up Sean Penn (playing the role of Harvey Milk) at the camera shop and take him to the nighttime rally at San Francisco City Hall, where Penn (as shown in image sequence) hops off and goes to make his speech. I have written documentation of its use in the movie.

Following in the wake of the Biltwell 100 race, my confidence in the 390 Adventure and my ability to pilot it for long stretches off-road soared. The ability to combine the technical skills I learned in the ATX Moto Adventures and Sedlak Off Road classes, along with some good old-fashioned seat time, really paid off.
