2012 BMW R1200RT with only 10,100 miles. I purchased the bike two years ago from the original owner (an older lady) in California, and have done a fair bit of traveling around CA and NV with it. Since moving to North Dakota in 2016 I haven't had much free time, so the bike has been sitting in my garage.

The engine oil, gearbox oil and final drive oil just changed. *Mileage may vary a little (~15 miles/week), as I take it out for short Sunday cruises.**Corbin seat shows some wear, but is comfortable. Right side Krauser bag is missing a stick-on emblem.A nice example of a great-running, very distinct, vintage motorcycle.

Up for bids is a 1980 BMW R100RT 1000cc boxer sport touring twin.  This machine was brought into our shop for an oil change by a customer who had just purchased it.  Sadly, the customer died while the bike was here......it wasn't here THAT long.   Has had the following done recently within 20 miles or so: New Dunlop D404 tires & tubes;  100/90/19 front;  110/90/18 rear;  $301.00 combined retail New Brown (brand) side stand; $160 retail Oil & filter change;  $45.00 combined retail New aftermarket wind screen We looked over the bike quickly in order to prepare for selling it.  It needs:  Rear shocks shot.....will INCLUDE a believed to be good used pair off the same model Rear brake disc and left front brake disc are worn Will need a battery but we jumped it and were able to ride the machine Seems to run and drive OK, engine sounds good Krauser bags in decent shape, but WILL NOT FIT because the mufflers have been changed to aftermarket and they're too high We have the lower center fairing piece that is missing in the picture.  The bike also has a Reynolds ride-off centerstand and a Reynolds rear rack with Krauser trip trunk.  We also have the original right-hand inner fairing pocket lid.  Has aftermarket pocket lids.  Had a radio in the left pocket at one time and there is a hole drilled in the fairing for an antenna. The bike has a lot of scuffs and scratches, but nothing major is broken. We're selling this machine AS IS WHERE IS and it would make a great restoration, cafĂ© or bobber project.  The reserve is low and very fair for what this machine is.  Please email or call us if you've got any questions.  814-425-3537   Also, the bike is available for sale here at our shop, so auction could be ended early.

Question of the Day: Single-sided or Double-Sided Swingarms

Tue, 06 Aug 2024

The classic form versus function debate A couple of weeks ago, Ducati pulled the covers off its seventh-generation superbike, the 2025 Panigale V4 and V4 S. The new Panigale introduced a number of changes to the engine, chassis and electronics, aimed at pushing the performance envelope even further. There was one particular change that we knew was going to be polarizing: the change from a single-sided swingarm to a double-sided swingarm.

Fri, 12 Jul 2024

The middleweight GS gets a significant performance boost Despite having been around the longest, BMW’s middleweight machines haven’t been leading the pack since the current adventure craze took off. As of late, the F 800/850 haven’t been top of the performance heap on-road or off. BMW aims to change that with its all-new F 900 GS.

The 390 Adventure Project – Upgrades and Adjustments

Wed, 10 Jul 2024

Following in the wake of the Biltwell 100 race, my confidence in the 390 Adventure and my ability to pilot it for long stretches off-road soared. The ability to combine the technical skills I learned in the ATX Moto Adventures and Sedlak Off Road classes, along with some good old-fashioned seat time, really paid off. In addition, there were two changes I made to the bike that firmly cemented my trust in piloting it through the sketchy sandy trails – a custom lowered seat from Seat Concepts, and some aggressive knobby tires.

MV Agusta Chairman Hubert Trunkenpolz Interview – Part One

Wed, 26 Jun 2024

Back in the Black Photos by Fabio Polimeni In November 2022 Italian trophy brand MV Agusta, wholly owned since 2019 by Russian entrepreneur Timur Sardarov and his family, and Pierer Mobility AG – KTM’s parent company – reached an agreement on ‘future strategic cooperation’, as a result of which the Austrian firm headed by Stefan Pierer would acquire a 25.10% stake in MV Agusta via its KTM AG subsidiary. At the first meeting of the newly constituted MV Agusta board on November 15, a capital increase of €30 million was agreed, denoting the sum KTM had paid to acquire its new minority shareholding in the company. As part of this strategic alliance KTM took charge of purchasing all components needed to manufacture MV Agusta’s entire range of models, as well as responsibility for marketing, distribution and after-sales service for MV Agusta on a global basis outside Italy.
