1969 BMW R-Series (1969)
I have owned the bike since 1985, but let the tags expire in 1987 while I was at college. I was concerned about using unleaded gas in it, and I got tired of fixing the floats, and it needed a new muffler cross-over pipe (which I still have, but never installed) to pass inspection. I did not need it for transportation, so it got left alone and ended up stored in a barn for a few years, until I moved to a place where I could store it where I lived. My intention was to harden the engine for the unleaded gas, but I could never afford to have it done. The last time I had it running was around 94 or so. Since then, it was kept in a shed until 97, then garages. Kind of became part of the garages at both of the houses that I lived. Mostly out of sight and out of mind, unless it was in the way. I have thought of trying to restore it, but my kids are not really interested in it, and so many years have passed, that it is just time to sell. It has 26,061 miles on it. I still have the Virginia state title. I took off the faring a few years ago and stored it in the attic of the garage to get it out of the way. For the one picture I put it mostly on, just to show it, but did not tightened it down. The engine does have compression, but it has not had gas in it for quite some time and the tank is rusted inside. There is some rust on the handle bars as seen in the pictures, and the mufflers are not original, but they were incredibly loud (even before the leak). The spark plug cable holders (piece that goes over the plug) have broken on both sides where the spark plug wire is clamped onto the holder (can see in the picture somewhat).2016-08-06 04:51:27King George, Virginia, United States264200

1969 R60US in same hands since new. Owner just pasted and I am helping the widow sell the machine. Bike sat for about a year before I took it and had it serviced, tank flushed, carbs cleaned and all fluids renewed. I have ridden it about a hundred miles in the last month to look for defects and found none. This is an original bike owned by the local BMW motorcycle dealership founder. Slingers were cleaned 600-650 miles ago, about 5 years. Tires look good but date code puts them at more than 10 years old. Small ding on the tail light can, Ask your questions. BMW Motorcycle from Academy Award-Winning Movie, "Milk" (1967)
My wife is in the Screen Actors Guild and works in movies, so the "Milk" production people knew about this bike and rented it for use in the movie. It's the bike in the movie (sequence beginning at about 118 minutes into it) that James Franco uses to pick up Sean Penn (playing the role of Harvey Milk) at the camera shop and take him to the nighttime rally at San Francisco City Hall, where Penn (as shown in image sequence) hops off and goes to make his speech. I have written documentation of its use in the movie.2013-09-03 04:01:41Penngrove, California, US21,12014,999.00

BMW R69S 1966 Restored (1966)
This is a 1966 BMW R69S sport model. The engine, frame and ID tag ALL have matching numbers 661164 and comes with a title. This motorcycle has just had a complete restoration by a certified BMW mechanic who has had many years of experience in restorations. The engine, transmission and final drive (gear ratio 25/8) were completely rebuilt with ALL new bearings and seals. The engine had the slingers cleaned. Anything that needed to be replaced was replaced if not within specs. The carburetors (matching and correct R69S) were cleaned, blasted and rebuilt. The frame and frontend was bead blasted and powder coated black. The frame has the tapered steering head bearings installed. All of the hardware was cad plated and anything that was chromed was rechromed. It has a NEW wiring harness. The sheet metal was in very nice condition and needed very minimal work. It was bead blasted and painted with a single stage black paint and was hand pinstriped like they were originally. The fuel tank is the large “sport tank” and the inside is perfect. The rims are the “Weinmann” aluminum and were laced with Buchannan stainless spokes. The exhaust is NEW reproduction, but is very nice. The speedometer is not the original one, as I had the original sent out to get rebuilt but that never happened so I got it back. I will include the original speedometer which is complete but needs to be rebuilt. I will also leave the current speedometer in the bucket. This motorcycle runs great and is very smooth and quiet. It has less than 50 miles on it since the rebuild and restoration. I really don’t want to sell this bike, but I live on a gravel road and I refuse to ride this beautiful machine down a gravel road. This is sold “as is” with no warranty. A non-refundable deposit of $500.00 is due to my PayPal account within 24 hours of the auction end. The balance is due by wire transfer or bank check upon picking up the motorcycle. I can assist with loading the bike or any other way that you may need. Please ask any and all questions…you may call me direct 952.994.8411…Thank you2013-09-04 07:44:11Farmington, Minnesota, US9,99915,500.00

I have owned this bike for the last 6 years after acquired it from the original owner in Minnesota. The bike was shipped the bike to Todd Rasmussen in Oklahoma for a complete restoration and I gave Todd instructions to build me a show quality bike to the highest standards while maintaining absolute originality from the factory wherever possible. 1966 BMW R27, 250cc single, VIN# 380737 (VIN, engine, and ID tag all match), mileage 26,890, and it's in excellent original condition. The bike was first sold in early 1967 and it has a clear 1967 Florida title. Reason for selling: making room in my collection for some new additions. You can see my other auction item, a 1957 Triumph TRW. BMW 1965 R50/2 (1965)
I have here a 1965 R50/2. It sat for close to 20-25 years in a bard(yes barn find) the previous owner loved this bike and was his pride and joy. I purchased about a month ago and have spent most of my time cleaning her up, having carbs rebuilt, gas tank cleaned out(although not sure I completely liked how they did it, and it was the first time I used this company.2013-09-05 08:25:39Plainview, New York, US23,2350.06

1965 BMW R-Series (1965)
R60/2 1965 BMW 39,200 miles all matching numbers— for sale is my exceptional and original R60/2, this motorcycle is an absolute joy to ride as it runs flawlessly. I purchased the R60/2 in 2011 from an older gentlemen in Pennsylvania who only rode it in parades, he maintained it mechanically and always keeping it garaged. the engine is strong and has been meticulously maintained with regular engine oil changes, transmission, and final drive. it has always been garaged and never sat with a spec of dirt on it, nor ridden in a rainstorm.2016-10-16 04:41:39Salt Lake City, Utah, United States3912310

1965 BMW R-Series (1965)
This R-27 has been in our family for over 45 years. I had Kevin Brooks at Brooks Motor Works in Washington do a frame off restoration that cost over $9,000 and I have ridden it only 600 miles since then. The bike is the last of the seven vintage BMW motorcycles that I have owned and I am only selling now because I am leaving on an open ended sailing trip around the world and it is time to sell everything I own.2016-10-30 04:43:08Orcas, Washington, United States269,700.00

Tue, 29 Mar 2022All three expected to share a new liquid-cooled Boxer engine Credit: Photos by Bernhard Höhne Last summer, we published photos of a very raw BMW GS prototype undergoing testing. The prototypes were so raw, it was difficult to tell exactly how much of it would make it to a production model.
BMW Announces Recall Campaign for K1600 Family Motorcycles
Fri, 25 Feb 2022The recall concerns all 2019-2020 BMW K1600 models due to the risk of rear suspension link failure caused by a manufacturing defect - the strength of the part does not meet the factory requirements. This linkage may be destroyed during normal road use, causing the rear of the motorcycle to fall onto the rear wheel. BMW dealers this spring will begin notifying owners of motorcycles that are subject of the recall campaign to visit an authorized dealership for a rear suspension linkage replacement.

Tue, 05 Oct 2021Euro 5 updates and more for six-cylinder K bikes The R18 Transcontinental and R18 Bagger have been getting a lot of attention lately, as BMW‘s foray into large-displacement cruiser touring segment. Getting somewhat lost, however, are BMW’s existing K1600 range, which used to be the company’s representatives in the touring category. While still part of BMW’s lineup, the six-cylinder models have not been updated since the 2017 model year, not even receiving any changes to meet Euro 5 standards that came into effect last year.
