1969 BMW R-Series (1969)
I have owned the bike since 1985, but let the tags expire in 1987 while I was at college. I was concerned about using unleaded gas in it, and I got tired of fixing the floats, and it needed a new muffler cross-over pipe (which I still have, but never installed) to pass inspection. I did not need it for transportation, so it got left alone and ended up stored in a barn for a few years, until I moved to a place where I could store it where I lived. My intention was to harden the engine for the unleaded gas, but I could never afford to have it done. The last time I had it running was around 94 or so. Since then, it was kept in a shed until 97, then garages. Kind of became part of the garages at both of the houses that I lived. Mostly out of sight and out of mind, unless it was in the way. I have thought of trying to restore it, but my kids are not really interested in it, and so many years have passed, that it is just time to sell. It has 26,061 miles on it. I still have the Virginia state title. I took off the faring a few years ago and stored it in the attic of the garage to get it out of the way. For the one picture I put it mostly on, just to show it, but did not tightened it down. The engine does have compression, but it has not had gas in it for quite some time and the tank is rusted inside. There is some rust on the handle bars as seen in the pictures, and the mufflers are not original, but they were incredibly loud (even before the leak). The spark plug cable holders (piece that goes over the plug) have broken on both sides where the spark plug wire is clamped onto the holder (can see in the picture somewhat).2016-08-06 04:51:27King George, Virginia, United States264200 -

Vintage BMW classic "toaster tank" R60/5 motorcycle for sale. This is a second owner bike, I purchased this from the son of the original owner who purchased it new in 1973. The bike is in excellent shape, clean, in unrestored original condition. I had the cylinders off, valves replaced, and adjusted. Runs smooth. Carbs were rebuilt, but still drip some gas out of the overflow. Speedometer is not operative, so mileage is not accurate, but I probably only put a couple thousand on it since I acquired it. 2010 BMW S1000RR currently set up for track days or club racing. Suspension is stock but has been revalved and set up for a 170 lb rider. Bike is very stable and handles well at speed, no issues at all. Motor is stock , only mods to bike are Bazzaz engine management system with tune, Sato rearsets and Arrow full system. I have most stock parts including signals and pssgr foot pegs so converting it back to street trim shouldn't be too difficult.. Bike is currently registered in CA as a non op track bike. Cosmetically it has been on the track has some scuffs and dings , body work is not perfect, but it is priced accordingly. I know very little about the bikes history. I bought it with 10000 miles on it from an AFM racer who used it as I have , as a street and occas track day bike. He claims to have never raced the bike or laid it down, but I cant guarantee this. I have never crashed on this bike and put another nearly 9k trouble free miles on it. I just did the very expensive 18000 mile service. The bike has no warranty expressed or implied, however if you find that I have misrepresented it in any way you can return it to me within 1 wk of purchase. If you are local, contact me for a test ride. Bike is super fast , more than I can handle for sure . Dunlop slicks have about 10 laps on them. The 1973 BMW R90S was a chunk of pure unobtanium, from a planet far, far away, that knocked my striped tube socks completely off. Ian Falloon wrote an entire 128-page book about it.

We knew it wouldn’t be the first, though, after we broke the news that BMW had trademarked the name along with “M 1000 XR” and “M 1300 GS.” What we didn’t expect was for the next M-branded motorcycle to be based on the S 1000 R. That now looks to be the case, as a new M 1000 R model has appeared in vehicle certification documents in Switzerland and Germany.

BMW is Working On An Electric Boxer Motorcycle
Tue, 14 Jun 2022BMW's electric future may have a nod to its past BMW released its second electric scooter earlier this year in the CE 04, and has made clear it plans to produce more electric two-wheelers in the near future. Oliver Zipse, chairman of the board of management for BMW AG, recently went as far as to say BMW Motorrad will introduce a new electric two-wheeler every 18 to 24 months, with the next model coming in 2023. While the initial models will be scooters or “urban mobility vehicles,” BMW is expected to eventually add electric motorcycles to its lineup.

Expected to be based on the TVS Apache RR 310, the G 310 RR should be formally announced shortly for international markets. We’ve been waiting for a G 310 RR sportbike ever since BMW introduced the G 310 R roadster and G 310 GS adventure bike in 2015.
