1973 BMW R-Series (1973)
Up for bidding is a 1973 BMW R60 / 5 motorcycle. This motorcycle was from an estate, found in the back of the garage covered by a mountain of bankets. Apparently, the bike was running well when last driven, sometime about 3-4 years ago. There is no battery, so we haven't tried to start it. The wheels roll freely, engine isn't frozen or anything, seems to have compression when kicking, there are no drips/leaks, tires are decent and hold air well, it does come with the keys. The title was issued to the owner in 1980, and he had it ever since. That's 36 years with the same owner, a buyers dream. The odometer reads 97671, and the BMW dealer sticker from the last oil change, on the inside rear fender, reads 97409. So, I believe the mileage is probably accurate, and there's no reason to think that the bike wouldn't still run fine. I can see that the right side cover is missing, but otherwise this bike looks to be pretty complete. It even has the original tool kit and users manual under the seat. All of the lights/lens are good, except for the tail light lens which has been slightly broken. The seat is in great shape, with no rips or tears. I took a lot of pictures, so that you'd get a good idea of the bikes overall condition. If you're looking at this bike, you know how rare these "Toasters" are becoming, as they only made them for a couple of years. I am listing the bike with a very reasonable starting price, well below current NADA blue book values for this model, and the high bidder will get to take this home. Looking at part prices for this bike, I would guess that one could even just part it out and make a tidy profit. In my opinion, this is not by any means just a parts bike. This should be given some tlc and ridden!! This is a NO RESERVE auction. I have 100% LIFETIME feedback as a seller, so no worries here. Please ask any questions BEFORE bidding, and please don't bid if you haven't already got the money to complete the sale. I will be glad to assist any shipper, if one is used.2016-07-15 04:53:30Southfield, Michigan, United States975400

1973 BMW R75/5 SWB Cafe Scrambler. Number Match. Thoroughly Revivified. Fast. (1973)
BACKSTORY I have here one R75/5 SWB classic with matching engine, frame, and badge numbers; it has a model year of 1973 and a build date of 1/1972, so the wiring is fuseless and most of the parts are stamped 1971. I got it as a basket case in the Spring and spent an unreasonable amount of time this Summer reviving and refinishing various components and making a few reversible (non-destructive) modifications. PO replaced the head & base gaskets, pushrod tube seals, etc., got it fired up then lost interest. REVIVAL (I would not call it a "restoration") I stripped & painted the frame and swingarm (spray lacquer; 3 coats black, 3 coats clear) and polished most of the engine casings. All the knurled BMW casing bolts looked great, but much of the other original hardware (hardened nuts & bolts, bushings, motor mounts, brake linkage, seat latch, steering damper, etc.) had a "lovely patina" (ahem), so I de-plated and re-plated all (zinc; 2 to 4 strikes).2013-10-14 00:06:52Norwich, Vermont, US32,2032,950.00

BMW R60/5 TOASTER TANK, A SIMPLE,RELIABLE, MOUNT (1973)
OFFERED, THE CLASSIC TOASTER TANK BMW. THIS BIKE SHOWS HIGH MILAGE BUT HAS HAD ENGINE WORK DONE 15 YEARS AGO AS TOLD TO ME THE THE OWNER. MOST NOTABLY WAS THE VALVE SEAT RETROFIT ALONG WITH OTHER TOP END WORK.. THIS MOTORCYCLE LOOKS GREAT & RUNS THE SAME.. THE COLOR IS A PETROL BLUE REMINISENT OF THE FIRST 100RS BIKES.. CHROME PANELS & SIDE COVERS ARE VERY NICE.. THE PIN STRIPES ARE BURIED BENEATH THE CLEAR COAT....... THIS BIKE WAS STORED FOR THE LAST 15 YEARS EFFECTIVELY BUT WAS STARTED AND USED WHEN THE OWNERS VACATIONED FROM GERMANY.. ////// IT IS MISSING THE KICK START LEVER FOR SOME REASON. // THE TURNSIGNALS MAY OR MAYNOT BE CORRECT... THE TANK HAD BEEN TREATED IN THE PAST( UGH!!), AND IS FAILING.. THIS IS NOT AFFECTING THE FUEL FLOW AND MAY OR MAY NOT NEED TO BE ADDRESSED IN THE FUTURE... THE TIRES WHILE SPORTING GREAT TREAD HAVE SOME MINOR CHECKING STARTING ON THE SIDEWALLS,,, I DID A 100 MILE TRIP WITHOUT INCIDENT. <<<<<< NOTHING FANCY , JUST A STRAIGHT FORWARD SLASH 5 FROM BACK IN THE DAY... SPEEDO/TACH WORKS AS DESIGNED //// BEAUTIFUL PAINT , CHROME & ALLOY... >>>> TRANSPORT TO THE BARBER MEET CAN BE ARRANGED ON THE WINNERS BEHALF FOR $ 140.00 THANKS2013-09-25 22:41:04Mims, Florida, US59,0002,200.00

1974 BMW R90/6 with Dneper sidecar - Recently tuned and replaced alternator rotor and battery. Customer is getting on in years and just doesn't ride enough to keep it. This is a very nice older rig we built about 10 years ago. The odometer doesn't work, but we have kept track of the mileage. It is approximately 54,000. Oil has been changed regularly and tune ups about every 1 1/2 years. The triple trees have been upgraded to Perry's sidecar triple tree. It has a steering dampner from bike to sidecar. This rig is ready to go just about anywhere. If you are local, or you want to fly in from out of State and have not driven a sidecar rig before, we will give you sidecar lessons. 1975 BMW R-Series (1975)
Strong runner, starts every time. Electrical all working. The BMW R90/6 was the top of the line model that BMW offered at the time. Equipped with their largest engine at the time a 898cc unit that produces just under 60hp. It was an instant success.2016-10-18 04:42:13Colgate, Wisconsin, United States337,500.00

1975 BMW R-Series (1975)
This bike was purchased as a father son restoration project. We got most of the way through it but it has a few more hours to complete the job. My son moved off to college and I moved to the beach so it's time to move it on to someone else to enjoy.2016-10-15 04:41:10Galveston, Texas, United States793,250.00

2024 BMW R18 Roctane Review First Ride
Fri, 02 Jun 2023Elegant contours, hard storage, and big jugs Our perception of the world is influenced by both nature and nurture. Just as our individual experiences shape how we view situations, the same can be said for the handlebars you sit behind. Each bike delivers its own unique experience that plays a part in how you interact with and take in the scenery around you whether that be flying through mountain roads at warp speed, filtering through traffic on the way to work, or cruising through expansive glacial valleys skirting the German/Austrian border.
BMW R 18 Roctane Confirmed in Homologation Filings
Fri, 31 Mar 2023Evidence suggests a performance cruiser variant BMW is preparing to add a new model to its 1,802cc boxer family, receiving type approval in Switzerland for a new variant called the R 18 Roctane. The type approval data for the Roctane shows much in common with the existing R 18 models, but with some notable differences. For one, the R 18 Roctane has an internal model code of 0N61, while the model codes for the R 18, R 18 Classic, R 18 B, and R 18 Transcontinental all have model codes beginning with 0L. This suggests the Roctane differs from the other models in a fairly significant way, either with a chassis update or a different form factor.
2022 BMW CE 04 Scooter Mini Review
Fri, 17 Feb 2023A convincing case for owning an electric except for one thing. Credit: Photos by Evans Brasfield With no US publications invited to the press launch of the BMW CE 04 more than a year ago, we had to enlist the help of our friend Bertrand Gahel to send us his thoughts in the form of his First Ride Review. Thirteen months later, we finally got our hands on the BMW scoot.
2022 BMW K1600 GT Christmas Chiseler Tour
Fri, 13 Jan 2023Its not easy being a cheapskate on a $25,000 motorcycle Chrissy Rogers and I were toying with the idea of a pre-Christmas blast up the Pacific coast to Hearst Castle for a few days while business was slow, since the weather was an impeccable partly cloudy and 60-ish degrees. That or maybe the Ruta de Vino down Mexico way? Maybe hop in the new-to-me 23-year old Jaguar?
2023 BMW S1000RR Review - First Ride
Thu, 29 Dec 2022Bavarian Bullet Credit: Photos by BMW Motorrad/Markus Jahn and Jrg Knstle It scarcely seems possible that BMW Motorrads lineup-leading S1000RR sportbike actually made its official public debut a whole decade and a half ago in April 2008, with deliveries beginning the following year. Even though 15 years is a long time, especially in the Superbike arena, where serious players like BeeEm, as well as Ducati, Aprilia, and the Japanese, dont stint on investing in fast-moving high-end technical R&D in pursuit of engineering excellence, the German brands first-ever customer motorcycle with a transverse-mounted four-cylinder has maintained its leading edge reputation for both mechanical and electronic innovation ever since then, and the newly introduced latest version is no exception. This is because, for the coming 2023 model year, BMW has essentially uprated its existing volume production version of the bike by transplanting a good chunk of the array of technical upgrades available until now only to around 1,200 well-heeled or well-sponsored users of the M1000RR, the uber-expensive, uber-performing version of BMWs street-legal superbike thats been on sale for the past two years, essentially as a homologation special for Superbike racing.
Church of MO: 2012 BMW G650GS Sertao Review
Sun, 18 Dec 2022To tell you the truth, in all the excitement, I dont remember if I ever rode a 2012 BMW G650GS Sertao or not? Most of BMWs attempts at middleweight adventure have been forgettable that way. But the Sertao actually comes off pretty okay in Petes review.
2023 BMW M 1000 R Review - First Ride
Thu, 15 Dec 2022Excessive excellence Credit: Photos by BMW Motorrad/Markus Jahn and Jrg Knstle Nothing succeeds like excess and by concocting the 2023 M 1000 R (or MR as theyd like us to call it), BMW is doing its best to confirm the truth of that axiom in a two-wheeled context. How else to characterize a Naked-as-Nature straight-Four hotrod with upright handlebar and no screen, which has a 14,600 rpm redline and produces a claimed 206.5 hp at 13,750rpm, with claimed peak torque of 83.3 lb-ft at 11,000rpm, that has a homologated/proven top speed of 174 mph and weighs just 438.7 lbs with all liquids, including a full 4.4-gallon tank of fuel? Consider that just a decade ago the factory S1000RR Superbike racer which BMWs works riders Troy Corser and Leon Haslam raced in the 2011 WSBK series produced 216 bhp at 14,900 rpm, and its clear that the new MR super-roadster is a statement of intent that cant be ignored.
2023 BMW R NineT 100 Years and R 18 100 Years Editions First Look
Thu, 15 Dec 2022A hundred years of BMW Motorrad BMW Motorrad is commemorating its 100th anniversary with the release of Special Heritage editions of the R nineT and R18. BMW will produce 1,923 units of each model, recognizing the debut of the brands first motorcycle, the R 32, in September 1923 at the German Motor Show in Berlin. Both models come with a number of chrome and Option 719 parts, including some milled pieces and several paint-on-chrome surfaces.
BMW R12 Trademark May Be for an R NineT Successor
Tue, 22 Nov 2022BMW Motorrad to mark 100th anniversary in 2023 Earlier this year, reports emerged that BMW had filed trademark applications for R12, with many predicting the name would be used on a new cruiser. The logic made sense, as the naming structure was similar to the R18, and BMW lacked a cruiser model in the 1200-ish range. We were a little less bullish on that theory at the time, and we suspected there was more to the story.
2023 BMW R 1250 RS First Look
Thu, 10 Nov 2022Two weeks ago, BMW announced updates to its R 1250 R roadster. Its not a big surprise, then, that many of those same updates are coming to the R 1250 RS. And just like the roadster, the updated 2023 R 1250 RS remains at the same MSRP as 2022: $15,695.
