Reluctantly selling my 11996 BMW r100gspd classic I purchased the classic from freeman cycles beverly mass 7-20-99 actual mileage was 1,140 bike has never been off road mostly used to display motorcycle apparel in my store, sold my store in 2007 since then the bike has been in storage the classic has only 4,602 miles i upgraded the seat to a Corbin, installed highway pegs, changed the original shock to a performance work . The shock lowered the bike by an inch and a half improved ride especially on highway (I have original shock ). Bike has new battery ready for new lucky owner (collector).

This is a 1995 BMW R 1100GS motorcycle. This bike was a new motorcycle trade in, I am a wholesale dealer. This is one of the true multipurpose bikes that is available today. It can cruise at 70 plus or ride the fire roads under most conditions. This bike appears to never been in any severe off road excursions as there is no rust or corrosion on the bike. Everything works. The pipes are not rusted and the wheels are excellent. The tires are 50%. The bike has hard bags and a rear luggage carrier. There is a headlight guard and a windscreen. The battery has just been replaced by the local bmw dealer so the bike is ready to go. The paint is excellent with just a few very minor marks on the bike. Marco Melandri rebounded from last week’s disappointing Portimao round to win Race One at Laguna Seca while Tom Sykes extended his championship lead with a win in a red-flagged Race Two. Melandri got taken out of the second Portimao race after his Aprilia teammate Sylvain Guintoli slid into his RSV4. Melandri looked eager to make up for that DNF, leading every lap of Race One on his way to his third win of the season.

BMW is updating its big six-cylinder touring bikes with traction control as standard equipment and a number of new optional add-ons including keyless remote ignition. Previously available as part of BMW’s factory-installed Safety Package option, the Dynamic Traction Control system will now be standard on all 2015 K1600GT and K1600GTL models. The system continuously monitors rear wheel traction during acceleration, stepping in when it senses excessive wheel spin.

BMW announced a new special edition version of the K1300S equipped with some upgraded parts and a unique paint job. The 2015 BMW K1300S Motorsport comes with a new Black Storm Metallic, Light White and Lupine Blue Metallic color scheme, with a bit of red striping for good measure. A band of black running across the top of the bike from nose to tank to tail is complemented by a tinted windscreen.

2014 BMW R1200RT Officially Recalled in US

BMW has officially recalled the 2014 R1200RT in the U.S., after the company released a worldwide warning to customers about a potential defect with the rear suspension system. According to documents released by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the piston rod on the R1200RT’s Dynamic Electronic Suspension Adjustment (ESA) rear shock absorber may break without warning. The problem was first discovered April 1 after a warranty claim was filed in France.

Michael Dunlop won a historic Dainese Superbike race to kick off the 2014 Isle of Man TT week. Riding the S1000RR, Dunlop secured BMW its first win on the Isle of Man since Georg Meier won on a Type 255 Kompressor in 1939. After catching early leader James Hillier of the Quattro Plant Kawasaki team on the opening lap, Dunlop continued to set an impressive first lap time of 17:11.107, which translates to a record average speed of 131.730 mph on the 37.73-mile Mountain Course.

Odwarka Replaces Blesse as VP of BMW Motorrad USA

Former Husqvarna President Kris Odwarka has been appointed the new vice president of BMW Motorrad USA, taking over from Hans Blesse who is leaving the position to head the BMW Group’s Canadian subsidiary. Odwarka (pictured on the left, above) will be in charge of BMW motorcycle sales and marketing in the U.S. starting on June 1.
