The members of So Cal BMW Motorcycle Dealers Group have partnered with MotoQuest to create an all-new festival celebrating BMW Motorcycles and motorcycling culture at Snow Summit Resort in Big Bear, CA September 19th-21st. This BMW Motorcycle Festival will feature guided and self-guided test rides both on and off road on the latest machines from BMW Motorrad, seminars from event sponsors like Schuberth Helmets and Twisted Throttle, and excellent riding through the mountains of Southern California. IIHS Asks NHTSA to Make ABS Brakes Mandatory for All Street-legal Motorcycles in US

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety and the Highway Loss Data Institute have submitted a letter to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration petitioning in favor of making anti-lock brakes mandatory for all new on-highway motorcycles. The letter, addressed to David Strickland, NHTSA administrator, included a recent IIHS study on the effects of ABS on motorcycle fatal crash rates. The report found ABS technology reduces the rate of fatal crashes by 31%, while collision claim rates were 20% lower with ABS-equipped motorcycles.

SPYDER Club motorcycle hire club invites two wheeled enthusiasts to join them in southern Spain for 4 days of riding through the mountains of Andalusia on the Aprilia RSV4 Factory, Ducati’s 1198S and the company's latest arrival, BMW’s new S1000RR.  Guests arrive from the 12th February with the final riders leaving on the 7th March. Spyder Club will be based in a villa above the village of Casabermeja and are running a total of 5 trips, each for 6 participants, during that time.The £800 asking price for the short break includes bike hire, accommodation, fuel and food.
