I bought this R1200GSA brand new in April, and have yet to really put any miles on it. It may have a few more miles on it by the time the auction ends, but it will be less than 100. I bought 3 bikes, and I just haven't ridden this one. It's a great bike, loaded with options, and is brand new. I have a free and clear title. No stories and no excuses.
It's the matte red and silver Adventure model. I have added the BMW Navigator as well, and that is included in the sale. It has the premium package and the keyless ignition (just like the key fob you keep in your pocket for your car). This is great bike, but I end up riding my cruiser or driving my convertible. I just acquired a '69 Chevelle for my collection, and I need the room, so this one needs to go. You would pay about $25,000 retail for this bike, so save yourself several thousand dollars and buy a barely used one! It does have the 3 year/unlimited mileage warranty, and I added the extended warranty (i think its 5 years unlimited mileage). I'm sure there is a nominal fee to transfer it, but that goes with the bike as well (buyer is responsible for the transfer fee and paperwork). It has the ESA Suspension (Dynamic, Road, Enduro) and ABS, which can be turned off for riding in the dirt. Other than the side and top cases, I believe this has all the options on a GSA. It's a stunning bike, runs great. I've owned 4 of these bikes, and a new RT, and this "WasserBoxer", or liquid cool boxer motor is fantastic! I'll probably regret selling it, so buy it early before I change my mind. This bike is listed locally, and I do reserve the right to cancel the auction if it sells. BMW Design Chief David Robb Steps Down; Edgar Heinrich Named Successor
Mon, 30 Jan 2012David Robb, the man responsible for BMW‘s split-face motorcycle design, has left the German manufacturer. A native of Boston, Mass., Robb joined BMW as its design chief in 1993, and over the ensuing 18 years expanded the company’s product line to include the top selling R1200GS, the six-cylinder K1600GT and GTL, and the S1000RR superbike (that’s him on the far right in the picture above). The 56-year-old’s latest design to enter production are the C600 Sport and C650GT maxi-scooters.

Tue, 07 Jun 2011Ever since Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman rode their BMW’s around the world it seems anyone with a ‘GS’ has an open ticket to ride around the world and then write about it. And fair enough, if I could afford the bike and the trip then I’d be gone as well. Obviously, BMW reaped the rewards when Ewan and Charlie showcased what their GS could really do, changing BMW’s image from solid but stuffy, to solid and cool overnight.

Fri, 08 Jul 2011An hour and a half in my shed was all it took to bolt two boxes of goodies from R&G Racing on to my S1000RR. The casing covers (£190.00), cotton reels (£25.49 ), frame inserts(£21.00) and crash protectors (£67.99)are a doddle to bolt on and come with all the necessary allen bolts. The multi adjustable rearsets (£350.00) are equally as easy to fit (they must be if I can do it) and also come with clear instructions.
