BMW R-Series description

2005 BMW R1200 RT motorcycle. I purchased this bike new in 2006. The motorcycle runs great and has never been down or in any type of accident.  Well maintained with oil and filter being changed twice a year. The bike comes with a Seargent seat as seen in the photos and the original windshield. The current windshield is a V-stream . Also included is a BMW tank bag and a Garmin Zumo GPS with mount.  The grey checker design on the bike was added by me to give it a unique look. These are vinyl so could be easily removed.  I also added handlebar risers (1")

For the BMW enthusiast, you may or may not know that the rear electric shock pre-load has been a bit of a problem in that they just stop working. I have been riding the bike for 2 years with the pre-load in the two up position.  I choose not to repair with a BMW replacement, since I felt that new shocks would be in its' future and I would most likely go aftermarket.

Beyond that, everything on the bike works as expected.  Valves were adjusted in 2012 & new spark plugs installed. (only about 2000 miles since). Final drive fluid has been changed four times and the transmission fluid once. The only scratches or nicks on the bike are on the rear bags. Any other signs of wear would be considered normal.  Michelin Pilots have about 3000 miles left.

When the bike was under warranty, front rotors were replaced and the fuel sender for the gauge was replaced.

If you have any questions, feel free to call me at 612-518-6726 or email which I will check in the evenings.

* I simply am not using the motorcycle so it is time to sell. You will not be disappointed in the condition or the performance. If you know your bikes, you know these are highly regarded in their ability to bring a smile to your face!

If you are a distance away, I can help by putting the bike on my trailer and driving it 150 miles in any direction from the Minneapolis area for an additional $100.00.

Good luck bidding on this great bike!

The solution to a pricey GPS mount

Wed, 26 Aug 2009

So you've gone out and bought your BMW R1200GS, you're ready to circumnavigate the globe's toughest roads - or ride over some potholes on your way to work - but you've got a dilemma: no way to mount your GPS device! So what you should do is exactly what this chap's done and use a spatula and a few rubber bands to mount-up your GPS for easy use. And the bonus is that when you get to where you're going, you can use the spatula with your BBQ and triple it up as a fly-swatter too.

Chris Pfeiffer Plays Chicken on a BMW G450X Against a Bobsled [Video]

Tue, 28 Dec 2010

When I first saw this video, I thought it had to be a trick. Like the Gillette video of Roger Federer knocking a can off a man’s head with a tennis serve or the Nike ad with a couple of Dutch soccer players and an air vent, the first reaction is it has to be fake. But then I remember this is BMW stunt rider Chris Pfeiffer we’re talking about here.
