BMW R-Series description

I am pleased to offer for sale this wonderful BMW Airhead R1100R. This is a heavily optioned original owner bike located here in the beautiful hamlet of Bedford Village NY, just 42 miles north of Times Square, just west of the Greenwich/ Stamford border. I have known of this bike for years and after it went in for a major brake service at Solo Moto in Greenwich CT last month, I was able to negotiate its purchase while in the shop. This is a matching numbers, one owner, totally original, undamaged motorcycle. As you would expect it has a clear Connecticut State title with no liens, loans or damage history. I may be reached at 914 403 1768.

The bike is totally serviced, safe and ready to use. Some of the options include front and rear ABS, heated hand grips, front standard size OEM windscreen, hand-grip guards, cylinder protection guards, 4 way safety flashers, keyed helmet lock and lockable removable matching panniers with rain covers. All the keys, owners, service, riders manual and dealer books are included as well as the last service in the amount of $781 performed this month.

The paint color is quite beautiful, a medium metallic blue. Again the paint and all the decals are in perfect condition and original from the date of manufacture in March of 1977. The mechanicals have never been altered. The brakes, suspension, exhaust, seats, wheels, electrics, handle bars and all accessories are original BMW.

I am also including an original BMW Helmet from my own collections. This is a buy and drive machine. In other words, Buy it and Ride it!

If you are an out of state buyer, relax! I have been an eBay member for over 15 years and enjoy an excellent rating. I am willing to trailer deliver up to a 100 mile radius or if necessary, I am pleased to recommend a national motorcycle moving company. Feel free to give me a call or text at 914 4031768 to continue in a conversation. The country roads in our area are among the most scenic. Let's talk, and come over to meet me for a ride. You will not be disappointed.

Cheers! John Louis

BMW Announces Recall Campaign for K1600 Family Motorcycles

Fri, 25 Feb 2022

The recall concerns all 2019-2020 BMW K1600 models due to the risk of rear suspension link failure caused by a manufacturing defect - the strength of the part does not meet the factory requirements. This linkage may be destroyed during normal road use, causing the rear of the motorcycle to fall onto the rear wheel. BMW dealers this spring will begin notifying owners of motorcycles that are subject of the recall campaign to visit an authorized dealership for a rear suspension linkage replacement.

2014 BMW US Prices Released – R nineT Only $800 More Expensive than R1200R

Tue, 28 Jan 2014

If you’ve been considering a new BMW motorcycle this year, then you must be eagerly awaiting the German manufacturer to release its 2014 prices. Now that your Christmas bills are paid off (at least, you would hope), you can start budgeting for your new Beemer, now that BMW Motorrad USA has released pricing information for the five newest models to its lineup, the R nineT, S1000R, R1200GS Adventure, K1600GTL Exclusive and R1200RT. Perhaps the most welcome news is the R nineT’s pricing at $14,900, making it just $800 more expensive than the R1200R‘s $14,100 price tag.

Latest on my S1000RR

Mon, 04 Oct 2010

Not sure what's going on with the sound in this vid, but it calms down after a minute - sorry! As my long term BMW S1000RR does most of its miles working hard on track days, I felt an early 6000 mile service might be a good idea. A quick phone call to my local dealer (the friendly and efficient Pidcocks) saw my bike in the workshop the following week and back in my hands by lunchtime.
