BMW R-Series description

The last year of the domestically sold airheads. This is my second Paris Dakar, 6th airhead GS (91-95), and the cleanest I have owned. I purchased the bike last April with 12,000 miles on the odometer for a cross-country trip. I put approximately 5,000 miles on the bike, and it served its purpose well. I believe I am the third owner. It runs great and has had a recent tune-up and brake service completed. I told myself that I will always own at least one, and since it is sitting next to a 94 bumble bee, one has to go. The reason for the PD was after my trip I learned that the large tank is simply a novelty that I personally don't need, and I am not too fond of the color scheme. It is definitely a bike for the purists. The bike is in great condition. It has minor wear on the tank where it meets the seat, other than that it is cosmetically very clean, mechanically sound, and ready to go anywhere. It truly is a beautiful bike that has been very well taken care of, always garaged, meticulously detailed, and started regularly, which is precisely the reason I need to sell it. I found myself in the same position as the previous owners, and simply want to keep it garaged. To my knowledge it has never been taken off-road. It runs great and has had a recent tune-up and brake service completed. It is all stock and ready to go anywhere, or be added to a collection. The bike comes with a set of new Touratech Bags that I purchased for the trip, and therefore are virtually new. I will also throw in a black seat cover to replace the hideous red seat. Since the bike is for sale locally, I reserve the right to end the auction at any time. Buyer is responsible for transporting fees.

Mmmmm, Toasted

While some fortunate souls who live south of the Mason-Dixon line are able to ride their beloved beasts all year long, some are forced to put their hogs into hibernation by mother nature come winter time. Although most motorcyclists have little use for wintry weather, autumn is a truly beautiful time of year to ride. Granted, the days become shorter and the wind colder, but navigating your way through winding roads amid the vibrant colors of changing leaves is enough of a reward within itself.

Adventure Riding in the American West – A Photobook

Thu, 09 May 2024

Photobook “Adventure Riding in the American West” is live on Kickstarter! Olivier de Vaulx, a long-time collaborator with our friends over at Upshift Magazine as well as many other international publications, has launched a project of his own on Kickstarter this week: A 200-page photo book that compiles 10 years of riding in the most remote places of the West. Cutting no corners, as Olivier says, this book will be a 9 x 12 inch hardcover, printed on archival-quality paper.
