Classic 1993 BMW Airhead
The culmination of all things good in a BMW Airhead. The biggest bore engine 979.9 cc. The highly desirable dual disk 2-piston Brembo fixed calipers with floating stainless steel disk brakes. The monoshock Paralever rear suspension and the extremely rigid BMW cross spoke wheels, 18" front, 17" rear (which allow you to run tubeless tires on spoked wheels). The front suspension has a highly responsive telescopic fork with separate hydraulic compression and rebound-damping action with progressive spring rate and integral fork stabilizer. Includes 2 inclined 32 mm Bing constant-pressure carburetors and a large bore 2 into 1 exhaust. New battery this spring. Factory saddlebags are included with my travelogue of stickers. I've owned this bike since 2013. The bike had a little less than 10,000 miles when I got it. It's been great but it's time to downsize, rotate my toy stock, and move on to the next adventure. Buyer must place a non-refundable $500 deposit within 24 hours of close of listing by Paypal. Balance in clear funds before release of bike. The Fireblade SP was last offered in the U.S. as a 2023 model, and when Honda announced an updated version last November, we were disappointed to hear nary a peep from American Honda about the superbike.
BMW Reports Q2 2014 Financial Results
Tue, 05 Aug 2014BMW reported an 11.2% growth in motorcycle sales revenue for the second quarter ended June 30, 2014, thanks to a new best-ever quarterly record of 42,259 motorcycles sold. The record sales quarter also led to a record of 70,978 motorcycles sold in the first half of 2014, the most motorcycles BMW has sold in a six-month period in the company’s 90-year history in the business. The second quarter sales result represents a 5.1% increase on the 40,209 motorcycles sold in the same quarter last year.
