BMW R-Series tech info
BMW R-Series description
Beautiful and very rare 1986 BMW R80G/S in 99% original condition (it can be returned to original condition easily.) The side-stand and LED tail lights are the only modifications from stock that I am aware of.
Under 20,000 miles. Not abused and showing no signs of ever being wrecked. Comes with original tool kit, air pump, tool tray, and BMW panniers. Panniers are in usable, fair, condition (there are repaired cracks in the plastic - very common with these panniers.) I do not have the owner's manual. Mechanically it is in excellent condition. It starts easily, runs, drives, shifts and brakes as an R80G/S should. It is a pleasure to ride. I bought this R80G/S intending to keep it forever but I am moving in a few months and space will be very tight. I have set a reasonable reserve that is below the price of recent sales for comparable motorcycles. If it does not meet the reserve I will keep it. The new owner can choose to keep it in original condition or restore it to showroom condition. I prefer to sell it to someone who can see it in person first, if at all possible. If you can't view it in person please keep in mind that photos tend to hide minor cosmetic imperfections. This G/S is very presentable but does not look like new. The overall condition and patina are appropriate for a motorcycle of this vintage. $500 deposit due within 48 hours of the auction ending, payable by Paypal. The remaining balance must be paid before the motorcycle is picked up. If the balance is paid by check, it must clear the bank first. The motorcycle can be picked up in Seattle, Washington. Buyer to make arrangements for delivery and I will provide assistance. |

Looking for a CBR250R or K1600GTL Forum?
Thu, 07 Apr 2011Every year in the motorcycling world there are a few new motorcycles that gather the collective interest of enthusiasts across the country. This year those two models included the new entry-level sportbike from Honda, the CBR250R, and the new luxo-touring bike from BMW, the K1600GT and K1600GTL. While enthusiasts are gearing up for delivery of their new bikes there is a place for them to enthusiastically discuss their new purchase, or perhaps, for those who have not yet purchased, a sounding board for their thoughts.
Video: Corvette Stingray Take on All Corners of the Globe at Willow Springs
Wed, 09 Oct 2013The folks at Edmunds took the 2014 Corvette Stingray and put it to the test at Willow Springs International Raceway versus its usual competitors: the SRT Viper , Nissan GT-R , Porsche 911 , Porsche Cayman S , Ford Shelby GT500 and the BMW M3 . It looks like the "Stingray vs. The World" title suits the video well, given there is one car from Japan, a few from Europe and another one from the U.S.
2025 Honda NT1100 Updated for Europe, but Still Not Coming Here
Fri, 04 Oct 2024More than 12,000 sold since 2022, but 0 in North America Stop me if you’ve heard this one before: Honda has updated one of its most popular models in Europe, but it’s still not coming to North America. We’ve heard that refrain a lot over the years, and it’s no different for the NT1100 sport-tourer. Introduced in Europe in 2022, the NT1100 is a sport-touring model that shares much of its bones with the CRF1100L Africa Twin.
