This is my Baby for the last 25 years..... "Old Reliable". We've seen a lot of territory together.
And as I am almost 67 yrs old it may be time ( we'll see ) to pass it along to the younger generation - and that, in comparison, should be a hella lot of you out there. Always a California bike, I'm the 2nd owner. Got it from Plam BMW in Santa Cruz ( that name will ring bells with the older Airhead set in the Bay Area ). **STAINTUNE STAINLESS EXHAUST SYSTEM, BEAUTIFUL MUSIC** The engine was rebuilt in 2011 by Dave Gardner / Recommend Service, San Francisco. If you know Dave, you know it was done right. He's retired now, but in the day he was Dr. Boxer. It was the $6900 tune up..... ****IT NOW HAS 9040 MILES ON THE REBUILD**** Nikasil barrels, new cam, timing chain, pistons, heads rebuild by Kibblewhite of Pacifica CA ( another name that the cognisenti will know). The whole enchilada. The gearbox, BTW, was fine no issues. ****CHECK OU THE DRIVING LIGHTS - GIVE 'EM SOMETHING DIFFERENT TO LOOK AT, THAT'S MY STRATEGY**** It all works. It's a beauty. Strong. Reliable (duh...). If you're looking for Classic Airhead, well........ PLEASE NOTE: New front / back Metzler's with maybe 300 miles on 'em. BMW HP4 Gets New ABS that Works in Corners
Fri, 18 Jul 2014BMW has developed a new anti-lock braking system designed to work when a motorcycle is leaned over into a corner. The new ABS Pro system will initially be offered as a retrofit upgrade on the BMW HP4 sportbike, but it’s likely only a matter of time before the technology becomes available on other models. The ABS Pro uses the same sensors already employed by BMW’s Dynamic Traction Control and Dynamic Damping Control electronic suspension, both of which are already available on the HP4.
BMW Unveils “Near-Production” C Evolution Electric Scooter Prototype
Fri, 27 Jul 2012BMW has unveiled the a new “near-production” prototype of its electric maxi-scooter. The German manufacturer has produced five operational prototypes of the BMW C evolution scooter which will be showcased at various events around Europe to prepare for the launch of the serial production version. The BMW C evolution maintains many of the styling cues from the Concept e scooter unveiled at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show.
