BMW R-Series description

1978 BMW R100RS, ORIGINAL MOTORSPORT. This is an original Motorsport Model. Have owned this motorcycle for 18 years. Bought it with about 21,000 miles and it is now approaching 28,000mi. Obviously did not ride it a lot, have been saving it because of its collector value. Motorcycle is not perfect, but in excellent overall condition. Mechanically excellent, had recent clutch spline lube, rear drive spline lube, forks have new fluid and seals. Bike starts easily, engine runs strong and quiet. Shifts and handles really well as it is supposed to. If you look up the vin#, ( on the bmw vin number decode site which ebay will not let me show), you will find it listed as an ECE model, meaning it is a European Model and not the standard USA model, ( a Motorsport should always come up as ECE). Bike comes with the the correct BLUE 3/4 seat, it is in very excellent cond. no rips or other problems, beyond some small paint flaws on the cowling. Would really prefer a local sale and would accept a bit less for it if you are a local buyer or at least could come pick it up yourself. Buyer is responseable for all shipping arrangements. Bike does not leave my property until my Bank declares that payment has come through. There are people paying with fraudelent bank checks, casiers checks etc., so those things are not fail safe anymore. Work done 7000miles ago. 1. New Rear Main Seal, Flywheel O Ring, Flywheel Bolts, (torqued to new spec of 95 ft. Lbs). 2. Oil Pump Resealed. 3. New 2 lip Transmission Input Shaft Seal 4. Steering Head Bearings Cleaned and Greased Work Done Over Past Year. 1. New seals in forks, internal and out. 2. Clutch Splines Lubed. 3. Front ATE Brake Calipers, cleaned and new seals installed. (brakes stop really well). 4. Rear Drive splines lubed. 5.New Engine Oil and Filter. 6. All drive train oils changed. 7. Valve Clearances set. 8. Starter removed and lubed. 9.

Victory VS. BMW Police Bike Challenge + Video

Wed, 02 Apr 2014

A notice to any potential law breakers out there: Victory is getting in on the police bike business. Using stock Cross Country models modified with only lights and sirens, the Victorys may not be as ill-equipped for chases (at least slow speed, parking lot chases) as you might think. Just check out this video below for proof.

BMW announced a new variant to its six-cylinder K-series and other small updates to returning 2014 models. The 2014 models were first revealed last weekend’s BMW Motorrad Days celebration but we now have full details on the updates. The new 2014 BMW K1600GT Sport is based on the existing K1600GT but adds a special Sakhir Orange/Black Storm Metallic paint job, black gloss-coated wheels, a shorter windscreen and a sportier seat design.
