BMW R-Series description

Up for sale is this awesome BMW r100/7.

Clean title in hand this is a turn key bike ready to ride home today.

Starts right up even when cold and runs amazingly.

If your going to ride an airhead why not make it the coolest one around?

This bike is for sale locally for $8,750 so the auction may end any time. If you are a serious buyer and would like to make me a buy it now offer from ebay feel free to contact me through ebay messages or call / text 775-742-8807 anytime.

I would be happy to arrange shipping to buyers door in the U.S. Shipping is very reasonable these days, I have shipped a bike to southern California for under 200$ and one to east coast for around 500$.... If buyer would like to arrange shipping, I will do everything I can to assist your shipper. Uship.com has a free instant price estimator. Bike is located in Reno, NV zip 89509.  Local pickup is of course welcomed as well.

As you can see it is pretty highly customized, I will try to note some of the work done:

New Paint job is Factory BMW Estoril Blue Metallic that they use on their newer M series cars, looks AWESOME in direct sunlight, couldn't really capture it that great with camera but you can google the color.

I wanted a shorter and skinnier seat than the big factory seats, this involved shortening the sub-frame a few inches, which also required the rear fender to be shortened which involved cutting a section out and re-fiberglassing / filling / priming the fender.

The seat is 100% hand made, not another one like it. Hand laid a fiberglass pan, used factory seat lock as well a secondary mounting point and made fittings on the seat pan for them, hand formed some motorcycle specific seat foam to get desired shape, then took it to an upholsterer and had them hand make the cover it turned out awesome as you can see.

Custom front half fairing from a manufacturer in Germany that does not import them into U.S. The windscreen was hand formed to get a low sleek line, not bubbly like 90% you see.

Some parts were media blasted with fine grit glass beads, fork legs, engine shrouds etc..

New Left and right hand controls, adjustable levers, perches etc....

Has a custom exhaust system with titanium wrapped headers, mufflers mount up to factory mounting points and sound great.

Nice new vintage style LED tail light

New Progrip SBK grips

Bike has been Fully serviced ready to take across the country:

Brand new Front and Rear tires
New spark plugs
New Spark plug wires with new NGK caps
Front forks rebuilt with upgraded bottom/top out springs
New front brake pads with rebuilt caliper
New front Master cylinder with brakes bled and pads adjusted
Rear brake adjusted
Front and rear wheel bearings adjusted and greased
Fluid flush in tranny, final drive, and driveshaft
New oil and factory BMW filter
Carburetors were put in an ultrasonic cleaner and rebuilt
Valves were adjusted
Points were adjusted
Timing was set with a timing light
Carburetors were then balanced with vacuum gauges

I know there is tons of stuff I am forgetting.

The bike will come with either the black cast rims pictured or if the buyer would prefer I can put on the factory spoked wheels, which also have brand new tires (there is a couple pictures in video with spoked rims on)

PLEASE if you have 0 or negative feedback you must contact me before bidding.

2012 BMW C600 Sport and C650GT Scooter Preview

Tue, 08 Nov 2011

While Japanese OEMs persist in their cautiousness, BMW continues its assault on new markets, most recently with its incredible S1000RR literbike. Over the past four years, the German company has nearly doubled its 500cc-plus market share from about 7% to 13%, and the 2011 model year is on pace to set a sales record of more than 103,000 motorcycles. For 2012, BMW enters the lucrative scooter segment with a pair of twin-cylinder maxi-scoots claimed to combine the agility and comfort of a scooter with the riding qualities of a motorcycle.

Motorcycle.com Weekly Community Round-up!

Here are a few things going on around the Motorcycle.com Forum Network: Animated Engines plivez, a new member of the Ducati.ms forums (welcome Plivez!) has a website where he animates motorcycle engines in flash. It’s pretty interesting to see the way a Evo and Twin Cam V twin Harley Davidson engine works. He also has up the crazy BMW flat twin R100 motorcycle engine which seems more complicated then an engine should be!

How To Adjust the Clutch Cable on a Motorcycle

Thu, 17 Oct 2024

It goes by many names: Clutch free play, clutch slack, or clutch tension describes the amount of free movement your motorcycle’s clutch lever has before it begins pulling on the clutch cable itself. Why does that matter? The clutch installed on your bike is a wear item, and as the friction plates within the clutch wear out from countless engagements and disengagements, they become thinner.
